Thats not her.
The real Natalya is an 8'-0" tall amazon roller skater, wearing a top hat, protesting Scientology buildings, skating toward you at 9000 miles an hour, fists first.
So, much much scarier.

Does that include an army of assyrians in functional, life size battleships made out of lego? :brick:

I'm really surprised that the girl you got for the Natalya picture has the pink part of her hair on the right. Right now my hair is a washed-out Rainbow Dash dye scheme so most of it looks like a bleached-blonde, but the red faded to pink and is on the right side of my head just like this girl.

You forgot that I'm made of radiation, I know the Jedi Mind Trick, and I won a bar fight one time.

The last part is sort-of true, sort-of.

I think the next cool thing I need to do is get a tattoo or something.

Take a look around before you pick a Tattoo parlour to go to - my first parlour was suggested by only one friend and was supposed to be "awesome" instead it turned out to be a dive, and it hurt like hell - the guy doing it pressed the needle in WAY to hard and drew blood throughout the entire thing. My second and third Tattoos however I had done at another parlour closer to where I am now - and I had asked about 20-something people about how good they where, and got nothing but good reviews.

Melanie, my tattoo artist now has one hell of an eye for detail, has never caused me any pain beyond an odd tickling sensation and I would recommend to anyone.

As for your first tattoo - pick a design you aren't going to look back on in five years time and go "Why the hell did I have that put on me?" something with a strong, awesome and personal meaning - on my right shoulder I have one of the army insignias from a webcomic I ran years ago, on my left arm I have the coheed and cambria dragonfly on a starstriped background as a sleeve around my entire lower arm/wrist - and on my wedding finger I have my wife's name in standard galactic alphabet.

Preparation? Eat a HUGE bowl of pasta about an hour before you have to go in - this is a serious must, your bodys pain reflex will kick in during the tattooing and it will digest the living fuck out of any calories and sugars while you are in the chair - I also recommend whatever high sugar sweets and energy drinks (note sugar - not caffeine) and sit there nomming your way through the entire experience, on your way out I can tell you it will hurt depending on your pain tolerance levels - but if you eat the right stuff before and during, you will walk out feeling like a BAUSE afterwards.

Afterwards - Tattooing is addictive as hell, give it about 6-9 months later and you will be thinking of your next idea - and then you'd probably have your second tattoo the year after the first and so on.

I myself am already thinking about what the hell I am going to have as tattoo number four - I am thinking maybe a small red lego 2x2 brick on one of my shoulders on the back.

I've been thinking about a swallow on the under-side of my forearm as seen here because the Demons are the first team I've been a part of, but I'm worried about future employers being like 'wat the hell' or shit like that. That and it's kind-of big for a first tattoo. Any thoughts on that? I do like swallows though so maybe I could get it on my shoulder blade or something where I can cover it.

Forarms should be okay to hide under a shirt of any kind - it all depends on how you feel about wearing a shirt or long sleeved top/jumper/whateverthehellyouwantIdon'tgetfemaleclothing for the rest of your time in whatever company you work for. I've never found tattoos to be a problem with employment, I usually wear a suit to interviews, and either one of my many shirts or long sleeved company uniform for a few weeks and then start casually rolling up my sleeves or whatever, I've never been given any form of warning and found more often than not it actually helped start conversations between myself and the other supervisors or the manager team - and even started off some really awesome conversations with customers and got me quite a few recommendations at company meetings (Yeah, customer service award for the month, 8 months in a row - hells to the yeah).

As for the design - Yeah, that is indeed awesome, and it is about the size of my first tattoo - Forearm will hurt a little more than say, upper arm or shoulder, but as I said before - load yourself up beforehand on good eatin's and you'll be fine.

Go forth young Natalya, get some goddamn ink in that skin. :all:

Eh... I'd go for the shoulder, but that's because I don't know what profession you're in...

For instance, my brother is a teacher, and I think he's told me that if he had gotten a forearm tattoo he'd get into some deep shit for having it visible to students...

I don't have a career yet, like I have a BA but no actual career path. Right now I work part-time at a warehouse but I'll be moving to Ontario in about a month and a half and I don't know what kind of work I will find there because my degree isn't technical. I feel like tatoos might be getting more acceptable these days but I know there was some kind of stigma against them for being lower-class or something, which is bullshit IMO, but it has made me worried.

Well they're more acceptable then piercings, but they can still be a bit unnerving...

I mean, a trypanophobe like me isn't going to be comfortable getting their blood drawn by someone with barbwire and thorns going all up their arms...

Then again, it could be helpful when it comes to that intimidation factor, like a paleontologist with ink can clearly hold his own in scientific discourse (read: Bar Fights).
