Though I could answer that, it's easier to point out it's more than just that. That one guy assumed he was Lance Armstrong who is an entirely different person, to then proudly proclaim he must have died of drugs. Hang on a what - there are people that don't know who the FIRST MAN TO LAND ON THE MOON WAS?

I could kinda get not knowing all of the exploits, like the fact the landers computer failed for the last few hundred metres and Niel basically eyeballed the moon-landing in manual without breaking a goddamn sweat - but not knowing who was the first man to land on the moon, at least via a cultural reference.

Good god - its as bad as those morons who thought Titanic was a fictional movie, not real events - or that the gunpowder plot was some kind of mockumentary.

Neils passing has made the world seem a little less open to me, due to the fact that for the moment, our last great age of exploration has ground to a distinct standstill - we can only hope that our generation meets up to his, as it won't be surpassing it any time soon.

It is kinda sad that people don't know who he was. He is one of the few humans to walk on something that wasn't planet earth. And there isn't going to be anymore of those people until we land on mars, and who even knows if that’s even within our lifetime. But sadly I'm not surprised. What I do want to know is, was he on anyone’s death list?
