Ordered red and black PVC stuff to make a new jacket thing. It should be here next week. Today I gave the helmet its last coating of silver. Tomorrow I'll do the black stripe down the middle. Today I also worked on my old fake bass guitar. I drilled into it and hollowed out an area to fit in a switch. See here:



The toggle switch on the pick guard, I got that now. The switch I used is an actual working electrical component, so I'm wondering if I should wire it to something? Maybe like I could carve out room for some speakers and an mp3 player or something?

Also, I ordered the scarf online (couldn't find a suitable one in stores) and I also ordered a spare lawnmower starter on e-bay. I can use that on the back side of the guitar for extra awesomeness.

I've built my own guitar so maybe I can help you. you would need a power source for the switch. A 9v battery would work best.. How would you plan on doing the speakers?

Recesses in the back of the guitar maybe. Power supply might be able to fit inside the lawnmower starter when I get it.

You might be able to fit it into the guitar itself, the handle, that is.

I would honestly just hook that switch up to a buncha awesome lights or something. It's one thing to not know how to play a bass, and that's cool, but having a fake bass fake play fake music is kinda groan-worthy. The other option is of course not to give any fucks because "fuck you i want my bass to play music dammit," which is totally a legitimate response.

Rickenbackers are also fairly expensive basses as well. A 4003 will go for probably $2000 or more, while a 4001 (If you're really that picky) will go for more as they haven't been made in decades.

Yeah, don't go out and buy a bass and learn how to play it unless you're really really really trying to be "authentic" or whatever.
