The Battle of the Ruined City

Post by Falk » Sat Aug 25, 2012 3:28 pm

I fought a battle against my brother on monday, but I forgot to take pics of the first four or so turns , so you'll have to endure my talking instead.

Set Up

We each had a hardsuit, 4 troopers, a sergeant and 1 bolter, 1 MG and 1 rocket launcher trooper (+-180 CP). My forces started by the yellow building and his (the Tredorians)by the blue one.

Turn 1

Was uneventful I took a potshot at his hardsuit with my bolter but did no damage and his guys got ready to use grapling hooks to scale the middle building.

Turn 2

My hardsuit was destroyed (my brother got and Almighty Benny for first blood but he forgot to use it :? )and my guys started to climb the buildings. Also my bolter, MG and RL troopers went into the yellow building in order to be able to fire from cover.

Turn 3

All of my normal troopers but one were killed but I managed to kill his sarge and the hardsuit and a trooper or two.

Turn 4

My brother called in 72 CP worth of rebel troopers for reinfocements, sohe let me call in two commandos, a sniper and a light hardsuit (also 72 CP). One of the commandos killed himself and a Tredorian trooper with his pipebomb. he also leveled the top floor of the white middle building. By this time all that was left of my original troops were the bolter, MG and RL troopers in the yellow building, and he had a normal trooper, a bolter guy and a RL trooper.

Turn 5

Luchardsko (me)

My bolter guy shoots at the rebels,

And manages to kill two of them.

Image

The rest of the guys in the yellow building come on to the balcony, exept for the sniper, who looks out the window.

Image

The sniper headshots a rebel.

Image

The commando throws a pipebomb towards the rebels on the white building.

Image

He then flies away towards the red tower and the last Tredorian trooper.

Image

The pipebomb explodes,

Image

Further demolishing the white building and killing all  the rebels. even the one who bailed. (the damage was like 28 on 3d10)

Image

The light hardsuit fires a MKII missile,

Image

And the RL trooper explodes in tons of crits and overskill damage.

Tredoria (my brother)

Image

The last trooper shoots at the commando but fails.

Image

He then uses his second shot to fire at the bolter guy, but also fails (both times the damage = armor)

Image

The Tredorian bolter guy shoots twice at the commando but both his shots miss.

Turn 6

Luchardsko
Image

My machine gunner kills the trooperfrom point blank range.

Image

And the the Commando shoots the bolter guy's head off.

VICTORY FOR LUCHARDSKO!!

I think that my brother would have probably won if he hadn't called in the reinfocements, he had me outnumbered at turn 4 2:1.

Yeah, I had a good time, I'm not sure about my brother though, he gets bored really quickly and battleships is the only "strategy" game that he likes.

Thanks! I was hoping for a more "shoot-out inside the buildings battle, but it turned out differently. :(

It usually turns out differently then you think originally. That's all my brikwars battles I mean.

I really like your action shots. They add something special to the report. Like you remembered to play with your Legos while you were running the game. Good on you.

Do you think if you weren't taking pictures, it would have been fast enough for your brother to keep interest? I know pictures can take a long time to set up, especially with LEGO dudes, so that down time might have been a bit boring. Of course, the pictures ARE always encouraged, and we love to see them.

No, by that time it was down to: just tell me the general things you want to do and I'll do them for you. I generally don't take action shots while playing with other people.
