I put "I don't have a girlfriend, but it's a conscious decision" in the same category as "I'm mature for my age." Ineptitude can be funny, but otherwise it's not something to be proud of, and pretending that it is something to be proud of only makes it worse. (Unless it's intentional irony, in which case it can be even funnier and/or even lamer.)
