Hi everybody! I hope you're all enjoying the website overhaul. One of the new features is fancier newsfeed software for the frontpage, which you won't have noticed yet because I haven't authorized anyone to post on it.

Eventually, I want to get this set up to pull logins from the forum userbase, the same way the on-site wiki does now. That's taking longer than expected though, so I'm going to start creating accounts by hand for anyone who wants one. So! Anybody who wants a newsfeed account, say so, and I'll start setting them up.

It also wouldn't hurt to backfill the newsfeed a little bit, so if you want to make a post about your forum battle from six months ago and backdate it to six months ago, that would be great also.

Well, it interests me, but the only thread I've made that would snare attention is the one I made in Thunderdumb, and that might not be the best thing to have on the front page.

You can write about anything you want, not just your own threads. I set you up with "Contributor" access so that you can write whatever you want and an editor can look over whatever you submit and decide what to do with it. (And also format links and thumbnails to match the newsfeed style etc.)

For anybody who wants to format their links up in a nice table at the bottom of their posts, here's the basic HTML code. Otherwise you can just leave the links as normal and hope an editor will do it for you before they publish it. (Obviously you have to enter the HTML code in the HTML-mode tab rather than the Visual-mode tab, but that goes without saying.)

Also there's no reason you have to limit yourself to forum news. If you want to promote a wiki article, or you see some brikwarsy stuff elsewhere on the web, that's good too.

Note also when you're posting, if you look on the right side of the screen (you may have to scroll down), you can see options to set categories or upload thumbnail images for posts. Again, this is something you can leave for editors to do if you feel lucky.
