So was that really the championship game?

For Atlanta, yes. Larger cities will have multiple home-teams which play almost exclusively against each-other so this was Atlanta's Championship Bout. My home team, the Denim Demons, won the game against one of our other home teams, the Sake Tuyas, who were the champions last year.

I did notice from the pictures that there were a few... er... burly team members of snoo snoo proportions involved.
