Another Game?

Would another game like Sky Ruler interest anyone? I'm wondering if there could be a modern/ near future RPG that we could set up with LDD.




This was an idea that I had earlier today. Spies, commando's, tank divisions, etc. We could set up factions and have story line, like we already do with the rest of the forum, but have it specific to only one time period. It could be modern or historical. Either way, LDD makes it pretty easy to create modern looking weapons and the new update allows for larger scale models without having to buy a new computer. What do you guys think?

Three of us are enough to begin then. How do you guys want to do this? Should we make a map, stake our claims and fight over territory or just do mini missions for the fun of it. Should one of us be a moderator so this doesn't get too far fetched? Any ideas?

I'm down for the map. I'll find a region of the world that isn't easily recognizalbe and start drawing up the territories. For those who don't want to fight over land, no worries. Just state that you don't want to. We could get into resources, supply lines and conscription, but that is getting a little ultra realistic and I'm not sure if everyone here would be up for that.

Also, I'm thinking we should make up fictional countries, but have a language and culture associated with them.

A small nation protected by the elite Cossack army. The Leader of the country is Chancellor Pudingk, and the army is lead by General Ivan Bohun.

I made a few guns last night. Its a bit hard to tell what they are, but some of them are shot guns, mortars, rocket launchers, assault rifles, pistols, sub machine guns. I'll post more when I can.

Just so we're all on the same page, this is modern/ near future. So no cyborgs, face melting lasers, nanobot diseases that control your enemies, etc. That's all in the research and development departments of our factions...
Now I'm stuck on whether to make a British, Chinese or Austrian themed faction...

So are these fictional versions of real countries? If so, I want dibs on psudo-Finland

Yes, these would be fictional versions of actual places. If we were to do real countries, then it would be rather limiting. Ex: only one Ireland. Fictional means we can do lots of Irish-themed countries (which would be a perfect world).

Thesson, your guys look great. I don't think we have to worry about stats, since I'm going with Brikwars rules on the weapons. If you want to though you can.

Silver, I'm liking the story, but I'll think about it some more. The story is pretty big to me and once I'm in, I'm in.
