How about Viking mercenaries who are used as raiders and/or berserkers?

You could mix a couple in with the Hinterlands infantry and have them be the soldiers of the warlords that sided with James the Bloke, or the equivalent of cuthairs in Native American society.

Those are awesome, although I would have thought the troops of the forest would wield lighter weapons, although, it is the Bulls, so you never know.
