How will you fix the baseplates? I mean they are supposed to be placed on a flat surface.

it isn't very hard to reinforce the plates. the internal structure is enough to add rigidity to it.

well, i tried to upload my pics, but i couldnt get into my brickshelf account from my phone. i will have to save the pics to my computer and upload them from there. ...

i have some pretty cool ideas in the works, including some interesting weapon systems that i will be adding to the design as i go. needless to say, you wont be able to escape the main gun's range by simply going into orbit

although, there may be some sad news, i am not sure if it can still crap out busses like i originally intended. at least not full sized city busses :( but that is what short busses are for.

well, i finally uploaded some of the new pics from last weekend as well as from the progress i made last night.

this was right after i rebuilt the base of the hull.

a few hours later, tring out my suspension design.... it wasnt quite strong enough :(
Image

Progress from last night, i moved a few things around, repositioned the turret, made the suspension rigid, etc...

Here you can see part of the engine as well as a few other things.

an overhead shot, kinda hard to see what is what, but it gives a good view of how large it is.
Image

and the suspension set up. i am still bummed that having a fully spring design didnt work out once the weight was on it.

There should be more progress made tonight. i hope.

Looks very interesting so far. Still a lot to do. When i was at this stage with my tank i still had half a year ahead of me. And spending lots of money for the bricks required. Keep working on it and keep us updated!

there is a strong likelyhood that i will have to go to a Lego store this weekend, i am running low on dark grey and black 2x4 bricks. there are also a few other bits id like to pick up if i can. the only issue i have there is that the two i have available are still over an hour away in opposite directions. both are a PITA to get to as well, being in over crowded malls.

btw, that is the same turret that i started with in the very begining of this build, it was orignally going to be the main guns for the tank, but now, it is nowhere near the main gun in power or size, lol.

I love the look of the little mecha. I'm not sure if I've seen that before.

i have about 5 of them that are based on the same chassis design. when i am done with the HT, i will get more pics of the mini mechs. this one is an urban/ close quarters type mech outfitted to deal with disarming bombs, or laying a smack-down on anything in reach. what you can't see on this one is that there are two long arms that wrap around it at the "waist" with claws on the end. they reach under the shield to do delicate work that you wouldnt want to do without the armored protection of the mech. it also has a medium sized cannon on the top that folds up on the back when it isn't in use. i am currently planning on building a few more variants of the mini mechs once i finish with the HT. so, it might be a week or two, lol.

it is close, but not quite there yet, i think it is around 85 studs in length. i will be working on it again tonight as soon as i get home from work. i need to start on the main guns and how to mount them, its going to be nuts :warhead:

It is always a good idea to build some "prototypes". I did the same with my tank. It would have been very disappointing to find out the awesome chassis does not support an equally awesome turret. Looking forward to your main gun.

Also, will the be some sort of color scheme or will yout tank be a hodgepodge of everything? I remember the HatredCopter was rather consistent in its' colors.
