Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
the plan on this one is mainly black and dark grey with some white and possibly a little red mixed in. the blue is just the filler on the interior so i don't waste the color i need for the outside.

Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
I think your spring design would have worked if you had like two more suspension set ups on each side -- 5 of them per side not 3. 6 per side would be even better.
Also, look at incorporating more hollow areas to save weight. Your walls, especially up front, are hecka thick. The walls supporting the turret are good for being thick, but the other ones could probably be done with plates or hollowed out areas.

Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
this is true, the other issue i had with the suspension is that with that setup, it wanted to flex out to the sides. having the moving parts for the suspension would have made it very hard to reinforce the way i wanted to.
as for the structure, i do tend to over build and over engineer things. i like them to be able to hold up to actual use as well as being moved around for storage and display.
also, since i havent taken may pics of the progress i am making, ill just leave these here

WOW, those treads are absolutely full of win. If you had enough to fully coat it with OTCs, would it still roll?

Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
i do have enough, but they wouldnt support the weight. either the treads would break apart or the OTC would break off.IVhorseman wrote:WOW, those treads are absolutely full of win. If you had enough to fully coat it with OTCs, would it still roll?

Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
couple more shots from tonight.
obviously, not near done, but a bit farther than it was before. i plan on trying to finish the turret tonight if i can, or at least get some good progress on it.

Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
Stick a bunch of OTCs on the sides of the treads and in front of the tank so that it can also act as a form of people-mower.
Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
i have a few ideas involving OTC's with the tank. still working things out with that though.
that will have to come after the turret and a few other bits

Things to do with your surplus OTCs:
6. OTC people mower.
7. OTC launcher(s).
8. OTC wielding monkeys climbing around on the HatredTank.
9. Giant OTC made out of OTCs. (possibly loaded into a giant launcher)
10. OTC ICBM. That's right, a missile covered in OTCs.

you have no idea of how close you are on some of those

Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
made a bit more progress last night, still not even close to done, but i think i might be able to get there soon. maybe, lol.
keep in mind, this isn't the final position for everything, this was just a quick mock-up to get an idea of positioning when i actually mount everything. the main turret has to move back a bit from where it is in this shot. i am also still trying to decide on if i want to add another layer to the back half under the main gun or if i want to mount it like what i have going on now. so may options...

Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
If you manage to make the outside look half-way neat and clean and not a rainbow super-stud mess, this could end up being one of the coolest things on the forum. You might look into plating made out of walls of bricks on their sides or slightly angled.

that is the plan, once i get the interior finished, i will be able to get to the point of making it look good.

Re: sneak peek, the HatredTank
So, I am back to working on the HatredTank again. Here are a couple old shots of the progress from a few years back, and another from this past weekend.
I rebuilt the track system to compensate for the weight of it. still not completely happy with it, but I have a couple ideas to try out when I have the time.
