i just stumbled on this,http://www.redbullstratos.com/live

looks like the guy is going to have one hell of a free fall. jumping from the stratosphere out of a balloon. from what i hear, he should break the sound berrier during his free fall. could be interesting.

my issue doesn't come down to jumping from the plane with a parachute, its getting into the plane to begin with. too much drama at airports these days.

The video is something else.

Oh they just cut into the discovery stuff on the video its about 1-2 minutes behind.

Didn't a cosmonaut do this like, 40-50 years ago? I think I saw something about it in relation to testing the first space suits.

Yeah its been done before, but this would be higher.
Also there is a chance to break the speed of sound by a dude just falling before he hits the atmosphere.
