Am I wrong in relying on your math skills?

I don't think there's anyone here who would refute that Zupponn did a helluva job.

You also may have missed this.

... and matip couldn't win even if judged 'cos the highest it could still get already based on KK's judgement is 13 and that's if both me and Silver give it a perfect 5.

Just so you know, I'm not removing myself from the contest because I think you're right. I am removing myself because at this point, you will either persist in boycotting my submission or give me a crappy review which is basically the same.

I just want you to know that your battle report is beautiful in its own right and that in spirit it should have won HH.

Yeah, because I really have a reason to hate you or want to screw you over on purpose. Or I would do that even if I did. I barely know you. Get a grip, please.

... which is the most important thing. I agree. Congratz to all.

My suggestions to make this even better next year are:

6 ) Don't ask me to be a judge again. I'm merely following the rules and giving everyone the same chances and getting heat for it, I don't have time for that.
7 ) Allow people to re-enter their battle reports that just didn't make it on time this year if they want to.
8 ) Give people two (or one and a half) weeks by default. More time => more battle reports => less booty bothered.

Didn't knew that. The whole thing makes more sense now.

Irony, man. If I really wanted to screw up this competition I would've arranged my scores so that Zupponn and Collette both had just below 13 points, which I did not.

Shit. Guys, either Imageshack or phpBB were a total :bitch: to me the whole afternoon for no apparent reason and I didn't manage to post the freakin' HH report! I copied some of it to a text file and I believe it's working now cause I just posted my Halloween costume and the pic's URL wasn't broken, so it should work. Anyways, I have a test tomorrow and got to go have some sleep so I can't finish it now. Almost definitely tomorrow I'll have it posted.

If I'm WAY far from the stipulated deadline and unfit for judgement, I completely understand, but I'll post it all the same 'cause it was too awesome not to share.

Share it. We'll give you nice comments and praise in return.

Imageshack is rather crappy in my experience.

Flickr on the other hand is pretty good.

Congratulations to Zupponn! Well done. I wasn't much a fan of the whole meta-narrative thing, but :studgod: all the same.

And equal congratulations out to everyone else who entered; it's lovely to see the sub-forum full of reports. Some nice reading in the weeks ahead when I have time to do more than browse.

And a final wave of thanks to Paco for organizing, Silver and Killer for committing to judge, Brag for putting up with judging, (whoever the alternate was), and Stubhawk for a game worth writing battle reports about!

Well, I just finished adding up all the scores...!

To see that Colette already did that for me!

Uh, thanks.

Well, anyway, there's been a lot of arguing this year over what is and is not a legitimate subimssion, but I think we all can agree that one of the people most deserving of this year's title of Lord of Battle is Zupponn, with the amazingly meta Battle of Fort Admin!

Honorable Mentions
BrikSyd's: An Old Friend (the only report to get a perfect five): Argue about its date all you want, BrikSyd did a great job on the plot, staging, and combat on this two-part battle.
Bragallot's: Crimson Crusade Part 1: Winter War: Argue about its date all you want, Brag and Co.'s medieval skirmish didn't let up on the blood or chaos we've come to expect from his forum battles.
Colette's: Blood and Particle Physics: Argue about its date all you want (actually I think you came to an agreement about this one??) but Colette's technobabble er... science... filled batrep is great.

Oh Shit!
I just looked at my scoresheet again and it looks like Zupponn tied with alphafalcon's Island of Maniacs, which had him and Payton arguing and setting up great gory pictures as usual. Uh... I don't know what to do about this.
