I figured I could use some scenery, so I built a small well:

Hmm, you're right, they're kind of distracting. I got rid of them, but I'll need something else to cover the roof with. I'm thinking maybe skulls, of the people who tried to drink from the princess' well without asking nicely first.

It looks more like a shrine than a well to me. Whatever it is, it looks nice.

If you want a way to cover up the corners, try using some gold cones or 1x1 rounds.

I thought the same thing- with all the flags, it looks like a roadside shrine.

That roof piece might be my favorite thing to come out of the Harry Potter sets.

It is my favourite piece too, a lot of people use a bunch of slopes to build roofs, but I don't nearly have enough slopes to do that.

I can see why you'd call it a shrine. Before I removed the flags it even reminded me of a circus tent. It is kind of intentional though. Rather than building a realistic well (which I thought would be kinda boring) I tried to make it majestic, since it's the princess' own personal well and she's supposed to be kind of self-absorbed.
