Aside from the pages issue, I find myself wondering about Inhabitants of the Universe.

On the one hand, I wonder if its worth including at all since, realistically, basically no one is every really going to write about themselves. On the other hand, as long as its there, I have to think that basically anyone who participates in this whole BrikWars...thing...should be there. If nothing else, to fill the page out some and provide some general mythos. Also, I have no real idea what the hell is going on with the categories. I mean, I get legends and rejects. I get noobs too, though I'm forced to roll my eyes at it. But why warriors of the line and what does borderline quality mean?

Also, I did some consolidation and organizing. Should be a little smoother now.

Also also, what is /b/? That a 4chan thing? Is it necessary?

Warriors of the line are people who've been on the forums for long enough and have made a decent impression.

Right...

And that would be determined, presumably, by someone who is themselves a longtime member in good standing.

It's rule by fiat. Whoever's willing to put in the time to edit the wiki is in better standing than anyone who isn't.

Piltogg and Natalya are good examples of forum member pages. But other people's pages might just be lists of battles they participated in, with links to the battle pages.

And right now Quantumsurfer is ruling the wiki with an ABS fist. :D

Why did "wiki" stop being a link to the wiki.

When we upgraded to the new forum, we lost the ability to embed links into the word filters.

In these forums stubby set up a word filter, wiki to be a link to the old wiki.

Colette is calling him out, seems he got some splain'n to do.

All right. We updated to the new forum and I wanted to make a new linky word filter but it wasn't working. I thought I would check to see if there was some detail I forgot, so I opened up the wiki word filter to see how I'd done it before. The act of opening it up to look at it broke it. I couldn't fix it again because we updated to the new forum and we lost the ability to embed links in the word filters.

If I opened up alot in the word filter editor, it would break too. So I didn't.

I reworked Inhabitants of the Universe to better reflect the actual community. That being said, there are some minor things to sort out.

I've been around awhile, lurking before I ever signed up, so I've got a pretty good grasp on who is who. But I miss things sometimes and there are a couple of boards I don't visit or visit often. So if there is anyone on those lists that doesn't belong or is in the wrong place or missing...sorry. There might also be some alts in there. I'm going to take the tack that if its important to that person, they'll come along and change it. Or the leaders will.

a la:

stubby wrote:7: Don't know what you're doing? - neither does anyone else. it's a wiki, someone will come along and fix it if you mess something up

stubby wrote:Eh. If they care enough to object then they care enough to fix it. If it was that big a deal to them, they would have made the entry themselves. Either they appreciate the changes or they don't; it's not something I've ever been too worried about.

My criteria was as basic as I could make it. Basically, everyone who has over 1000 posts got put in BrikWarriors of Renown. Everyone who is a Board Moderator got put in Legends and Leaders. I also left people who were already on those lists, put there by whoever ported the page before. I left the BrikWarriors of the Universe blank. I figure folks can trickle in there later, if at all. Its still a valuable category though because it explains what a BrikWarrior is and I'll be linking the word to that page.

Now, I admit, I did show a tiny bit of prejudice. (Note: I actually didn't put myself into the list, Scratch did, I think. Thanks, Scratch.) I wasn't going to include Thunderdumb mods at first but I figured, nah, forget it, yo holmes, to Bel Air. Some folks would've made the Legends list anyway:

Pesgores: is quotedin the wiki. Plus all the stuff it says.
piltogg: is the central character in one of the biggest storylines.
Shadowscythe: for the scythian shorts.
White Nun: already has her own page in the wiki.

I've also started the process of linking profiles so at least pages aren't empty. And including redirect links at the bottoms of each page in order to prevent dead ends. Please enjoy.

Many of the mods are inactive or don't really post here much, best example is Dr. X who hasn't visited the board in years.

We can take them down. I suppose we could look through and see when last post date was. If it was more than a year ago, they get kicked to the curb.
