A Cuusoo Project That Doesn't Suck

Post by sjosten » Sat Feb 09, 2013 1:07 am

I know there's been a little animosity towards Cuusoo lately, but it might still be worth it if they put this project through: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/15229#. Can you imagine it? Actual McDonalds sets we can put in our cities so they can be blown to smithereens. A Lego store in your Lego city (or for irony's sake, in your Neg Blok city), a Dunkin Donuts for when your fig needs that extra bit of caffeine in battle but doesn't want to head over to the Starbucks set because it would make him look like a hipster. We need to get on this, if for no other reason then to prevent people from asking how to build the different places and cloggin up threads with the DiY smily.

PS: This does belong in bricks right? It's about Lego sets, but since they don't technically exist yet, I'm not entirely sure.

I'm sorry but I'm not very fond of this idea at all. To be honest I think it kind of sucks. Now if they made sets that are obvious parodies on existing brands then I would absolutely love it.

Unfortunately there’s no parody of Starbucks in the Simpsons, but they should be half the price of the sets so you can have two per street.

In more serious news, I throw my weight behind this project for nothing else than lego Apple.

Edit:
Support this too

The modular apple store looks pretty shitty.

I liked the first idea of modular stores, but I think it should be generic not branded - maybe four in a choice of colours for variety

Yeah, I think we already did a grocery store, so maybe a furniture stores, a hardware store, an electronics store, and an extreme sports store/surf shop? that seems like it would be pretty lego-y, what with neat looking furniture, power tools, tvs and stuff, and your assorted helmets, various boards, dirt bikes maybe.

Holy shit, that's a thing? After seeing that, it's incredible how similar the two sets are. Small real-world store, a worker fig and a customer, exclusive briks, it's a serious case of deja vu. Well, at least I know I can probably snag the old set if Cuusoo doesn't let the idea go through.

There used to be these little red crates with Coca-Cola printed on em, they sell for like $10 each on Bricklink.

I wish they'd do this, and for the medieval period, as well.

No, there are a couple on eBay that no one's bought that have starting bids of $129.

I could put a ketchup packet on eBay and price it at $129.

Even so, I wonder if I have a spare... I did find an unopened Tine milk truck set in my collection that I intend to eBay off...
