What tek level would you give the 1920s - 1930s with a bit of Diesel Punk thrown in for good measure? 4?

Based on Natalya's chart, 4.

Depends which one you like better.

I might add some "more futuristic" hand weapons so the tek is gonna get pretty messed up. It might be worth going for tek 4 to cover the high end stuff while accounting for all the low end stuff. Those funny rail gun rifles from brickarms are on their way to me, along with a couple of RPG7's and a couple of other bits (inc two crates).

Tesco have the Dino jeep thing from lego with the Velociraptor (sp?) for £18 so I might pick a couple up for big yellow jeeps. As for the Dinos, well, Dino-riding mummies will become a thing...

I'd guess that's why TL is nothing more than a guideline now and why a whole lot of folks blatantly ignore it. Since it's part of the template, if you really want to, I suppose a solution would be to hybridize it. Like if someone did a Space 1889 theme and they had steampunk starships, they could rate their TL as 3/5 (maybe 3-5 would be a better way to write it since it might also include 4 stuff) by the modern chart. You could do 3/4, or 3-4.
