Implying? They outright said so. Tried to copyright that shit. Nevermind that it was a scifi trope that existed long before hoity toity GW was ever even concieved...

Yeah, 'cos 'Space Marine' is like, a totally original name and stuff. I'm trying hard to come up with a more generic name for a soldier who fights in space.

Don't know for sure about the stores, but I thought those were only tournament rules. I guess the in-store thing makes sense, though.

Space soldier.
Space fighter.
Space man.

Apparently, you're not trying hard enough.

Yeah, been trying to convert or intercept would-be Warham players on teh Fore Chan...

...Some Anon actually had the gull to tell me that Warhammer was more about building and Brikwars was more about Gaming... :wtc:

Well, it is you know. In Warhammer, the point is to paint some pretty little figures and then look at them proudly, while Brikwars is about making some random MOC and throwing it at your opponents' random MOC when you start losing.

Pfft, if you wanted to paint shit so bad, why don't you just come out to the farm and redo the barn?

Yeah, painting I can get, but fucking building?
Yeah... I don't think you realize the appeal of miniature wargaming or this thread really.

See, we like to paint and build things that require a lot of skill to do properly.

While Brickwars is a fun game, it's just a game. It isn't a hobby in itself like painting models is. Building Legos is fun but doesn't have the depth that a lot of people want out of it.

Go make a Brickwars thread. This one isn't for you man.
I posted Natalya's Armored Core, and told him that he shouldn't say anything about building unless he's sculpting his damned Bane-blades...
...Considering this was a general WIP thread, and I kept it afloat with my Hell Brothers...

The main thrust of my trolling my 40k buddies has been that with the recent price rises, the Lego version is actually cheaper. My basic troops cost me $3.20 (at the most, if I happened to buy that one at TrU as opposed to the Lego store), plus two parts that total $.25 from Pick-a-Brick. So the Basic Galaxy Patrol Trooper is $3.45. Meanwhile the cheapest way to get a basic Space Marine is a boxed set of 10 that costs $37.25. And when you get into specialized guys, the price difference is even higher, because the cost for the GW version goes up quite steeply).

So yeah, no wonder the GW guys wouldn't want you playing with this army in their space.

That's actually pretty funny that a awesome minifig costs less then a tiny space marine mini.

I have a friend who plays Dust Tactics and I showed him Brikwars and he basically said "This game is just about doing crazy shit, right?" and decided it was amazing. Then I showed him the Galaxy Patrol fig and got him hooked.

But my friend is also a big fan of Munchkins so I explained it as a table-top Muchkins game. Maybe that's the secret?
