raspberry pi portable computer

Postby samuelzz10 » Sun Feb 24, 2013 2:15 am

Hey guys, I'm working on a miniature computer with lego casing, made using a raspberry pi. THE GOAL: Build an extremely small computer (A little bigger than the first gameboy) with usb slots, a cell-phone like keyboard, and a tiny monitor. (ALSO: a battery slot and a solar panel, the latter of which I can already find.) I was wondering if anybody could give me pointers of where to find these certain parts at a reasonable price. Thanks.

How do you buy a small screen that just automajikally displays from a TV connection?
Wouldnt there need to be some hardware between the two?

There are newer and better successors to the Raspberry Pi like https://www.olimex.com/Products/OLinuXi ... OLinuXino/ but I guess that doesn't really matter for this application. Doesn't the raspberry Pi already have 2 USBs? If not, the Olinuxino has 3 :P

Here is a very small and gameboy-advance like resolution monitor: http://www.amazon.com/Monitor-Support-R ... ef=lh_ni_t , according to the internet Raspberry Pi users have managed to get the two to work together.

Depending on what you're trying to do with it, I suppose. You probably want to dig around a bit and maybe ask questions on linux forums. I like http://www.ubuntu.com/ myself, it's what I have experience with.

My grandmother would occasionally throw some raisins in an apple pie, very nice.
Once they used gooseberries they had picked. Never had gooseberries before, they have a very distinctive flavor.

For some reason I remembered this incorrectly, and he was stealing pies. That would have made it more relevant to the thread, but screw it... I was trying to hijack it anyway. Just imagine Luthor hijacking forty Advice threads.
