Good to see you're not euro-vision booty bothered, some people seem to set too much store by that stuff, like this, see;

While not technically a gold medal, there was the 1972 Summit Series.

Canada has a love/hate relationship with Russia when it comes to hockey. On one hand, we love to watch them play each other, because they're both pretty equally good, and it's bound to be a good hockey game. On the other hand, we love to watch them lose.

Minnesota? Right?

The Miracle on Ice game between the United States and the Soviets was a monumental sports moment that has since been honored with a full length Hollywood movie. What many people do not know is that a total of 13 out of the 20 U.S. players were born in Minnesota. Talk about making an impact!

Was that the game where the entire American team was doing nothing but hitting the Russian team, and then the Russians got fed up with the bullshit and left? You know, the famous "they're going home!" game.

If not, my bad.

If so, I don't see how disgracing a sport is something to be proud of.

Nope you must be mistaken, although I would've thought that you Canadians would know about these sort of things.
