XCOM:The Roleplay
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
You make a character.
You give me a name and gender.
You are now that solider. You can write up AARs, Logs, Journals, Stories, whatever you want. It's essentially passive roleplay. I'll post mission reports once a week. Mission reports are based upon what i do in the game and are an Overwatch of a single months' period.
If you die, that's it. You don't come back.
In order for me to recruit more troopers, someone needs to make a character.
People signed up:
HLBeta.
Credit goes to HLBeta for fleshing the idea out.
Credit goes to MGB too, i guess, for partial inspiration.
Roster
[HLBeta]: Cpl. Franklin Loostfall
[HLBeta's Brother]: Sgt. Jim Darkmagics
[MGB 519]: Cpl. Sue Robinson
[Silver]: Cpl. Thomas O'Malleigh
[Minimight]: Pvt. Alexander DeGato
[Lawmaster]:Pvt. Rudolf Poepjes

Re: XCOM:The Roleplay
On one hand, I find it silly that you can only play as two genders, but on the other hand my character's name was Mr. Fister. Here's a character you will probably think of as okay.
Thomas O'Malleigh, Male

Re: XCOM:The Roleplay
Funny story, one of the players in my IRL campaign plays a genderqueer character because the character concept would be stereotypical no matter if the character was male or female.

Central here. We are EXTREMLEY pleased with the work thus far, gentlemen. Continue to do what you do best. Our first month saw a UFO splashed and almost fifty Xenos killed. Let's keep it up at this pace.
Pvt. Thomas O'Malleigh promoted to Corporal
Pvt. Sue Robinson promoted to Corporal
Pvt. Jim Darkmagics promoted to Sergeant
Pvt. Franklin Loostfall promoted to Corporal
Good Job, everyone.
Cpl. Thomas O'Malleigh, we award you with the Distingushed Service Medal for the killing of Ten Xenos.
Good Work, Everyone. We'll see you in our report next month.
Central Out.

Re: XCOM:The Roleplay
Thomas leaves to go to the local pub. It's a long flight on the X-com Raven but he doesn't mind. He reads a few chapters of his book and thinks thoughts to himself. Occasionally he thinks about his predecessor, Mr. Fister and how XCOM wouldn't accept someone who didn't identify as either gender. XCOM was a racist, sexist institution, but it was all humanity had.
The Raven landed, and Thomas exited, thanking the pilot. One of the few advantages of being in XCOM was abusing Ravens to get wherever you needed to. Thomas saw the pub before him, Muckraker's. It was an Irish pub in the middle of Vietnam, the one that Sue was conceived in.

Close. An elf, but some kind of roguesy thieving conperson type. Hir actions will of course reinforce the local harmful stereotypes about genderqueers.
