Adarim climbs first down the rope. After a long climb, he reaches the bottom, where he feels a rough stone floor. Only a few feet of rope are lying here, so the shaft must be 40-50 feet deep. It is pitch black. You are likely to not notice any gruesome monsters down here.

You see that the shaft just ends with a circular stone floor. But there is a crack in the northern wall, large enough for a person to squeeze through.

So who's going in? I'll do it unless my armor and gear makes me too fat. I'll ditch the shield in favor of the torch in one hand and the sunlight blade in the other.

Gerald and Saucix climb down the rope and make their way through the crack. Gerald's armor is scratched; fortunately he doesn't get stuck. The crack quickly widens and leads to what looks like a large natural cavern, which continues further away in the darkness beyond the reach of Gerald's torch.

Suddenly a clattering sound echoes through the cave. Gerald and Saucix look around for its source, and see this crawling across the cavern floor.

Aimed at Saucix, not you. You're not even in the crack!

I pick up a nearby pebble or stone and throw it at that horrific monster.

The stone comes down on the tiny monstrosity, crushing its carapace and splattering its squishy innards.

Two options face you. Get everyone down here and push further into this cave, to see sights that no adventurer has seen before. Or retreat like the wise and the cowardeous would. Or take a third option and split the party.

Well, there's another place to go. But since we're here, we may as well explore. I think we should return to town first and stock up on underground type supplies first, though.

I assume you silently agree with Gregor's proposal. (This stuff would go faster if you just posted "Yeah what he said".) Adarim, Saucix and Gerald climb up the rope again. You all go outside to the grey day. Are you going to start your two-day journey back to Eisgir now, or is there something you still want to do here?
