Especially drink water. My dad never feels thirsty, so once he didn't drink enough for about a week and if we didn't have insurance we would've had to have paid $20,000 in medical bills.

I've heard that computers stimulate brainwaves and make it harder for you to go to sleep. Or something like that.

No, my advice is to slowly start going to bed a little earlier until you're happy with your schedule. It requires you to try going to sleep and doing nothing else even if it's not working.

Mainly just take charge of your life and kick ass with authority. This is the most important time to focus on being the kind of person you want to spend the rest of your life being, because your brain is locking down the templates.

Computers and internet will alter your sleep schedule because the light of a monitor is calibrated to arrest your circadian rhythm, and interactive stimulation like chats or social media updates (or god forbid, Counter-Strike) keep your brain in active engagement mode. The best way to turn off the machine is to turn off the machine, but you can also turn the screen brightness way down and avoid active media once it starts getting dark outside.

I've noticed that playing an action game within an hour of bed really delays me getting to sleep.
Especially Planetside 2 with the constant hopping around and paranoia.

I usually watch the Daily Show 11-11:30 then be in bed before midnight.
If I had a regular job and needed to be there at 9 am I would be in bed at 11pm.

Too often my brain is so active I'm still awake at 3am, a couple times a month.

Some serious exercise helps, to make you tired.

Tzan, I disagree, surely excersise increases your pulse, making it more difficult to get to sleep?

Nimja, I disagree to your disagreement, surely doing some exercise during the afternoon would not effect your pulse 8 hours later?

You never specified at what time it was so I decided you meant "Just before you go to sleep"

2 options:

Read books in dim light for around an hour before you want to sleep

or

Drink yourself into a stupor
