Strayan Empire

Post by loafofcheese » Fri Jul 26, 2013 3:13 am

Well, I've decided that since it was almost a year since I posted this, I should update it with the new stuff I've built over the past year. I'm going in more of a sci-fi and less of a post apocalyptic style now, so I've deconstructed most of the old parts of the faction. the only thing that remains from the old is the gunship balloon. We've also moved to an airborne infantry deployment system and the vehicles have adapted to this new tactic.
Lets begin with the ground forces:
Image
The Folden Landpatrol, a 6 wheel drive truck with a tray mounted size 3 Quad AA gun.
Image
The Gun on the Landpatrol
Image
A luggage, the best way of moving your valuables from place to place.
Image
Battle Chefs, including Master Chef Patty Officer John 117 and Marine Captain Cook.
Image
Battle Scientists, who are much more willing to fight on the front lines than Trattorian scientists. Research is Lead by Dr Freeman and his Space core.
Image
Two Mages and our space mafia plumber, who has a strange ability to kill people by jumping on them.
Image
The 1st Airborne infantry, part of the Special Weapons Action Group or SWAG
Image
A saboteur and an infiltrator, the two main types of spy we use as part of our Special Weapons Action Group.
Image
A SWAG squad who use, from left to right: A plasma sniper rifle, an OT minigun, an RT blade, an OT nova sword, An OT hammer and shoulder mounted minigun, and twin nova swords.

Javelineer fire support platform.
Image
Armed with a size 2 minigun, a chainsaw, and a mount above the pilot's head for an additional weapon (In this case a gatling laser), the Javelineer boasts thrust vectoring quad jet engines that allow hovering and airborne deployment. You're all thinking "Why isn't the pilot protected?"
Image
Because, if the pilot dies, an artificial intelligence takes over, this prevents the usual technique of sniping the pilot to kill a mech.

Enforcer Advanced Combat Hardsuit
Image
Armed with an OT Hammer, an infantry railgun, and a shoulder mounted artilley gun, the Enforcer hardsuit bridges the gap between Power armour and Mechs. it has scaled down versions of the jet engines in the Javelineer for Airborne deployment.

Sprinter Scout mech
Image
The sprinter Scout mech has an OT hammer and a large railgun for longer range combat. its long legs allow it to move into and out of combat quickly. it has more protection for its pilot because of this.
Image

Goldsmith Combat Engineering Loader
Image
The engineering loader uses a power claw and an auto-railgun to provide coverage for combat engineers. The power claw can also be used to lift and manipulate objects.

Image
The Imperial Knights, an order of Knights used as the imperial bodyguard.
Image
Some sort of daft punk who has some association to the empire, no one knows his face.
Now to air vehicles:

Image
The Chopper, extended and mostly disarmed to suit it's new role as ranger extraction vehicle. it has one size 2 autocannon for covering fire.
Image
The Chopper from the front, complete with the new electronic warfare system mounted in the red part of the nose.
Image
Image
Image
The AC/DC-3, a transport plane used to move the 1st Airborne infantry squad
Image
The Airborne Cavalry officers.
Image
A gunship dirigible used for point defense on small battlegrounds, it has a size 2 minigun.

PROJECT CANBERRA is a series of modifications made to a lost Britannian space fighter that crashed on one of the first planets colonised by the Strayan empire. it was found to roughly correspond to a prototype for a replacement of the Mosquito fighter-bomber. The Canberra bomber has 5 size 3 laser lances and bomb bay space for either a single antimatter bomb or an orbital drop pod used to transport space marines. It is capable of performing ground attack strikes, trench runs, flying down the barrel of a capital ship's main gun to deliver it's payload and escaping, and delivering troops to the battlefield at mach 15. PROJECT CANBERRA aims to get the Canberra bomber into mass production before the work on the NEWCASTLE class carrier begins...

Sweet. I'm gonna have to get my engineering team to copy this design...

Cool stuff. Really like the Didyabringthegrogalong and the airship...
...
But damn it, I was gonna be the first to bring Doctor Who into the Brikiverse...Actually I still am, in my mind, yours is a fake, mines the real deal. I suppose that could eventually end in a fight to the death between them...

Dat halftrack. The Didjabringthegrogalong is pretty cool too, but holy crap, that halftrack. Also, I really like how the whole army seems unified despite not really having a single set of colors.

Well, I got bored of a bunch of stuff in this faction over the last year so it's been rebuilt almost entirely, the half track and Didjabringthegrogalong's bits were used to build the AC/DC-3 and the Landpatrol, and most of the other stuff was just too shitty.

I've been working on my shitty hardsuits and have built some really nice ones, so I'll get those photographed and up on the first post today.
