XF-91 'Boartooth'

The XF-91 'Boartooth' is the Jackrabbit's big brother. At the cost of a bit of agility it gains a lot in firepower, with four missile tubes under the fuselage, two photon torpedo mounts, and two V9-M heavy laser cannons. While it may not be as pretty or cute as the Jackrabbit, it remains extremely effective and menacing in combat.

I built this ship because I felt like it. I know the dark gray area is a bit lumpy, but there's a bunch of offsets and gaps in the frame so it was hard to even get this far.

The overhanging tooth on the nose is where this fighter gets it's nickname from.

Top view. This time, a minifig can fit nice and snug in the cockpit.

That's all, bubs! What do you think of it?

I like it more than the Jackrabbit, honestly. It just has a better feel to it. I like clunky things, I guess.

And the grey and blue-grey mix is okay, too. I know I wouldn't be able to make it all one shade with the pieces I have.

I like this one more. The Jackrabit seems like it's a weak little ship while this one looks more sturdy.

Post pictures of the underside.

Wow, I never expected people would like this more than the Jackrabbit. I guess it's just difference of perspective, I personally love the Jackrabbit many times better. Anyway, thanks for the comments!

And the underside is ugly, but here it is anyway. You can see the missile tubes, and the gray thing is the missile storage bay (sorry for the crappy pic).

I like it. It doesn't really look like it's related to the jackrabbit, but it's an amazing MOC in its own right. Awesome work.

That mix of gray and bley is always bad. But the ship design is fine.

*Hands Dr.X a tissue* "Here you need this with the amount of SNOT you've been producing lately."

I like the mix of greys, gives it an unpainted, battle scarred look.

Excellent use of the '2x2 corner round' as the gun barrel/missile tube support, in fact very good weapons integration altogether, well armed but not overdone.

I like the angular engine/fuselage too, and that you bothered what it looked like underneath.

You could quite easily bung a 'goblet missile' into each of those 1x1 clips too.

My only criticism is that one of the 'vent' elements is perpendicular in its ventiness with respect to the others, if you strighten that out I would then say thats your landing system right there.

So in my opinion Boartooth > Jackrabbit for all those reasons.

And yes I do like the jackrabbit but it looks a bit like it belongs on Naboo!

Thanks Snakeyes.

And yes, I used those clips so I could put on missiles later. A goblet one, provided I can find two non-yellow goblets, would work nicely.
