Is Collette writing your catch phrases?

Why's that?

"Sum" is a math word.
Collette loves the maths.

Definition of sum: The result of adding numbers.
the sum of 5 and 7 is 12

Shortly after leaving school I dabbled a bit with film making with a friend. Our logo was two dice showing seven spots on the top face of each dice, each spot was a skull. I think we paid more attention to the Logo than to the film making though. Way before any YouTube or any of that crap.

A quick anatomy/pose practice sketch was assaulted by The Merc Without a Mouth! Awesome character. As you can see, he doesn't like helicopters very much and his insanity seems to have affected the very laws of nature, bending the city's buildings perspective! (good enough excuse for the screw up?)

Not sure if his costume is 100% legit, I drew it out of memory so... Chimichangas!

I don't actually see anything wrong with the perspective. The one hand looks a little funny again though.

Either way, I wish I could draw that well.

That's probably because of the grenade pins. Or not. Anyways, practice, and you shall achieve.

On other news, I suck a little less at painting!

"A couple of MI-24 Ds (aka Crocodile) make way through the mountainous region towards their mission area after departing from the soviet-captured Kabul airfield." - Soviet-Afghan War (1979-1989)

Lately I have been gaining some interest in the Soviet-Afghan War, which, IMO, is quite relevant to ISAF's (and mainly US) nowadays operations in the region. I guess this was due to the rediscovery of my old Mi-24 D miniature beneath the endless layers of fuzz that grey the top shelf of my bedroom.

It is a formidable aircraft for its capabilities and where some find it cumbersome and ugly, I find the helicopter rather bulky, rigid and most importantly, predatory. My taste for the legendary russian gunship was only bolstered by a two-part documentary I watched on YouTube called "Wings of Russia", which covers the USSR's development (mainly by Mil) of helicopters and their increasing importance in the modern age battlefield (ex. Vietnam). Obviously, in this journey, the NATO-designated "Hind" was the crown jewel of Mil, receiving constant improvements over the years having been ultimately put to the test with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the late 70's, which served commendably and still does today in several conflicts and commercial endeavors, although replaced by its descendant, the MI-28, in the russian armed forces.

I'm kinda proud of the moon. Used a deviant's tutorial for that, really helpful!

Yet, I don't feel like I gave the aircraft the tribute it deserves, I'd probably do it better with a shaded black and white drawing, but I also wanted to train some landscapes and Afghanistan felt like a good start. I might give it another go someday...

Soundtracks: Far Cry 3 OST, 300 OST and Shokran.

What do you guys think?

Very nice, and the Afghan-Soviet war is also underrated. I have a friend who's dad was a minesweeper in that war.

Thanks, Silvy. It's interesting how that country is a total cemetery of empires, a deathtrap of nations and yet the Mongols conquered it. The Mongols conquer everything they fucking want. I think it's about time an army of Space Mongols shows up around here.

I really like it, for a self-portrait it has a pretty nice style. It kind of reminds me of the art from The Walking Dead in a weird way.

Thanks Silvy, although it is not a self-portrait, which you would know if you had followed the provided link :P
