Hey, what do you know? All I had to do was wait until after midnight to post something! Apologies for how dark the pics are, I don't know why they turned out this way. Flash was on, there was plenty of light in the room.
In the dark reaches of the FFG galaxy, three forces converge on a ruined battlefield.
To the Northwest: Space Austria (Archduke). They have several units of infantry and droids, Empress Ante equipped with the Kingraker (awesomely big crown-hammer), and a big tank with a bigger gun!
To the Northeast: The ZMC (Zupponn). Heavies, hardsuits, close-combat units with GT chainsaws, a fast-moving, treaded buzzsaw vehicle, the Bullet Bill transport, and Zupponn himself!
and along the Southern edge of the ruins, an unusual group of Deadly Spacemen have arrived with a rather odd vac-equipped mecha and several units of antiquated robots!
And in the center of the battlefield, the source of all this contention: a pile of radioactive GT ore! Whether it fell from the sky or erupted from the ground is not important. It is here and we must fight over it.
Overwatch:
To save on time and pic loading, I'll skip the first round for the most part. Everyone moved forward. No combat in round one. The vac-mecha sucked up a grey 1x6 block... and then jammed the vac hose, forcing the DSM mechanik to repair it.
ZMC got the first kill! But as you can see, they had a few issues with gun-dropping. This will be a common theme in this battle. Seriously, you have NO IDEA how many 1's were rolled for shooting on all sides! 4 dropped guns just in this pic!
Antique robots move up! My unit of boom-doggies move into the GT zone to contest the objective, the first unit to do so. Otherwise, everything else moves forward as the robots are quite a ways away from their opponents.
Austria's turn! The big tank gun shoots...
and X marks the spot! The shot, while on target, won't land for a while. Meanwhile, Austria's ground troops close with the vac-mecha and blast the heck out of it, knocking it down to 3 structure point almost instantly!
In the meantime, more shooting happens. Notice the dropped guns? This happens almost every round. I'm starting to think we need to have some kind of "guns dropped in one battle" counter. This battle might have set a record. ZMC melee specialist goes down, as do two rifle-troopers.
End of the second round... and the radioactivity coming from the GT damaged the vac-mecha (bringing it down to 1 structure point) and shorts out one of the DSM boom-doggies! But for having a unit within the ruins, the DSMs get an objective point.
END OF PART 1. I'm breaking this into parts so we don't accidentally overload the forum servers...

this was a fun battle - I got pretty steamrolled though.
My Hero's name is Empress Ante
The Hammer is the Kingraker

Re: The Hunt for Green Transparent!
Yeah, not gonna argue that.
...so you upped the Ante? I'm sorry, I had to make that joke, however bad it was...My Hero's name is Empress Ante
Regardless, fixed. I'll put more of the battle up a bit later today if I can. Need to upload more pics first.

Re: The Hunt for Green Transparent!
PART 2!
Austria moves up and starts blowing the crap out of the ZMC troopers. Note all the dropped guns on both sides. As mentioned, this is a recurring theme. We really need to institute a flub counter for games.
DSM turn. Mechanik manages to repair a couple of wounds on the vac-mecha, but the boom-doggies are the stars of the DSM round. Moving up into range, they lob grenades from the launchers on their backs and pretty much destroy a unit of Austria droids!
On the ZMC side of things, their buzzsaw tank drives into a unit of Austrian troops and mows them down like grass! Parts of one of the destroyed droids land on top of the tank as bits go flying! We apologize for the lack of blood splatters in most of these pics. It wasn't until we all got together that we collectively realized that ALL THREE OF US had forgotten our bags of blood...
ZMC continues to move up against Austria...
...and JUST IN TIME! Austria's shot from the big freaking cannon on their tank finally lands! It hits... nothing, causing some damage to a piece of ruined wall.
Austria retaliates against the boom-doggies in force, leaving only one of the robotic canines left functioning!
Benny is unhappy. Not only is his mecha non-functional due to systems damage, but now his doggies aren't working either!
Over on the Austria side, the Empress Ante steps up to make a heroic swing with her massive, crown-laden hammer! Here's the wind-up, aaaaaaaaand...
...oooh, ouch... The Empress fumbled! Somehow the only casualty was one of her own troopers as the Kingraker hammer goes flying out of her hands!
Over on the Eastern flank, the ZMC moves against the DSM and their antiquated robots. The Bullet Bill transport fires at the unit of robots with energy shields and does... nothing. What you cannot see is another targeting 'X' under the unit of shield-armed robots. A shot from the big freaking cannon on the Austria tank will land there soon.
Zupponn is tired of taking crap from the big tank. He walks over to the tower, looks it over and nods. Taking a step back, he swings his GT-infused weapon at the yellow tower!
A HIT! With collateral damage! The tower flies off of its base and slams into the turret on the Austrian tank, knocking it from its mounting ring! The crew of the tank manage to bail and land safely on the hull of their machine, but no turret means the big gun is out of service. Still, the tank has several smaller ones built into the hull...
Alas, Empress Ante isn't as lucky. She gets pounded by heavy gunfire from the ZMC troopers, knocked down, and almost killed. At the last second, Quantumsurfer Archduke steps in, scolds her for letting herself get into melee in the first place, and whisks her to safety!
Leaving only her cape and epaulettes behind.
The ZMC confronts one of the DSMs and hoses him with gunfire! Behind him, the Bullet Bill transport rams the force-shield robots and manages to destroy one!
Wait, what's this? As the DSM is riddled with bullets passing through his energy shield, he is revealed as an undead skeleton!
But he falls to pieces a moment later anyway. Even a magically animated creature of unlife has their limits.
Overwatch at the end of turn 5: The big red die on top of the hill is the number of objective points the DSM have managed to claim so far. In the end, the DSMs lead on objective points claimed will not be beaten... but will it help them win?

Re: The Hunt for Green Transparent!
PART 3!
Between them, the shield-robots and the big gun robots managed to do some decent damage to the Bullet Bill transport, but it was the landing of the previous turn's shot from Austria's big freaking cannon (fired before the turret was wrecked, so still a viable attack) that wrecked this part of the battlefield. It took the final two structure points away from the transport, killed a ZMC trooper, and caused the flame-thrower-bot's fuel tanks to explode. Ironically, the force-shield robots, though at point-blank range for the strike, managed to survive the hit , taking ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE!!!
As the final boom-doggy tries to do some damage, and the DSM mechanik tries to fix Benny's currently non-functional vac-mecha, the robotic cleaning crew moves up to the pit of GT.
The ZMC, on the other hand, are starting to get REALLY fed up with the Austrian tank! One of the melee guys launches himself at the hull in a vain attempt to slice his way through the plating! He does some damage, but not enough to knock off a structure point.
In the East end of the battlefield, the ZMC has pretty much wiped out their Austrian counterpoints. Note the lack of dropped weapons that are not near a corpse - it took the destruction of most of their targets to make both sides stop dropping their weapons!
Towards the center of the battlefield though, Austria is holding its own.
In the Southwest, the remaining shield bots, having had their numbers whittled down by concentrated ZMC fire, close to melee range with their opponents while the gunbots target the same unit. Behind them, the pink DSM commanding the DSM/robot forces moves up and uses a heroic feat to wipe out a unit of ZMC gunners.
Cleaner bots reach the GT and start their clean-up efforts. The DSM mechanik gets the vac-mecha running... for about a minute before all the systems shut down again.
The ZMC melee specialist clinging to the hull of the Austrian tank continues to try to batter his way through the hull, but to either side of him the point-defense lasers turn in his direction...
...and reduce him to a red smear on the hull. The blood slowly drips down onto the ground.
Frustrated at his inability to DO anything with his vac-mecha, Benny pushes the self-destruct button. The vac-canister on the back takes off like a rocket, launching into the air...
...and lands amidst the Austrian infantry!
The resulting explosion kills all but one, but only in the unit it hit.
But without the counterweight, the vac-mecha finally suffers a critical failure. Unable to balance, it falls over forwards. Benny is trapped inside, and the mecha is now done for.
The ZMC and robots keep trading blows and gunfire...
Behind them, the pink DSM charges forwards, her plasma-ion pistols making short work of more Austrian droids.
Cleaner-bots finally manage to clean up some of the GT. This means that the radiation will only harm nearby figures on a 6+ instead of a 5+. This is good news for the pink DSM, as without that she'd have taken damage from the radiation at the end of the turn.
Oh look, more gun-dropping...
Fed up with the Austrian tank, Zupponn calls upon his mastery of GT...
...picks up the GT chainswords of his fallen soldiers...
...and flings them at the crew of the Austrian tank! Scratch two tank crew.
Heh. More dropping of weapons. This force-shield bot dropped its entire arm when it rolled a '1'!
Once again, Zupponn summons the GT using his power and encases the pink DSM! She is lifted into the air, the GT crushing and striking at her from all directions!
But she doesn't die! When the GT falls away, the pink DSM is revealed to be some kind of space vampire DSM!
But she knows when she's beaten. Facing down another volley isn't in the cards for her. She turns to mist and flies away, leaving her plasma-ion pistols behind. Without her influence, the antique robot comm-bot stops receiving orders from her. After a brief systems check, comm-bot reverts back to prior orders.
The surviving robots turn and leave, taking what GT they cleaned up with them.
The remaining Space Austrians gather up some GT as quickly as they can. Piling the GT onto their damaged tank, they drive away.
This leaves the ZMC to collect the rest of the GT at their leisure!
FINAL Overwatch!
At the end of the game... Austria got the most kills, the ZMC had control of the board, but the robots still held the most objective points (5). Who won? That is up to debate, but the ZMC suffered the least damage and got the bulk of the GT, so they can rightly feel that they came out the best...
But who was the vampire DSM? Where did she get all of those antique robots, and what are her plans for the GT?
