Brikspace: The Final Round

Post by Theblackdog » Thu Apr 02, 2009 8:42 pm

Be sure to vote in the poll above. If a majority of people liked this battle format, the next person to host a brikspace-style microship battle with frictionless movement will get a free slot in my next forum game. The exact time of the next game is undecided, but it will almost certainly occur over the summer. The game will be a ground battle, but if enough people like this type of battle I could include a space component with orbital bombardment/reinforcement drop rules.

Image
The sole remaining fighter turns towards the freighter and waits for the right moment...

Image
The defense field frigate decelerates and drops its shields to attack the fighter, and the fighter uses its response action to fire a shot at the freighter's engine exhaust.

Image
The shot goes straight down the exhaust tube and blows the freighter apart from the inside!

Image
The Defense Frigate fires back at the fighter, but misses.

Image
But the Tiger Shark is a bit more lucky. The last coalition spacecraft goes down.

Total victory points:
Pirates: 90
Coalition: 30

That's it, good game everyone. If you want to nominate best characters/best pictures, post them in your responses to this thread.

Well that was certainly the most interesting forum battle I've participated in! The level of strategy involved in the first few turns (before our fleet was reduced to a boarding craft and an escort frigate) was great, it was awesome to be Thrawn for a while!

As for the poll, I already have a Brikspace: The Knockoff in the works, but unlike yours mine will be starfighter based. Unfortunately, I have to get a hold of some baseplates to make a boardable bridge for one of the few capital ships first, but it will definitely be out before the summer.

If it uses the frictionless movement rules, it counts. As for Cpl. Halan, you weren't able to reach the fighter due to your velocity at the beginning of the turn. And the only reason that fighter managed to kill the freighter was that you had a really unlucky "who fires first" roll. Under my rules, this roll usually favors the attacker so I thought that you could get a shot off before he did.

So, the pirates won, I guess? Also, I have three ships for a brikspace battle ready, but I am working on Dimmy Purge right now, and I don't want to do two at once.

Best character: my last stargighter and the pirate boarding hero.

i fell like hosting a brikwars/brikspace i might start it after i get a new carpet in since otherwise ill have to move it, i already have a dimmie army with some viacles and stuff, and a anti dimmie squad and a commado squad that just need helmets and visors to be finised. along with a tank for a fraction im gonna buy off pick-a-brick will be small since the price hike and the hovercraft i made for the anti-dimmieists.
just need baseplates.
