Map size.

Hi guys.
I'm planning my first real match which will happen in a few weeks' time. As myself and my arch enemy/little brother are building part of the terrain each and putting it together, is there a recommended size?

4 32' baseplates is generally a good starting size. (unless you don't know the rules yet, then just a few figs on a table)

Great! That's what I was planning (bricklink'd two green 32x32's today)

I think I'll make a large chasm down the centre, with a collapsing bridge on a Mindstorms random timer.

I like to play as close as I can get to a 48" by 48" field, warhammer style.

the bridge sounds cool, though maybe it would be better to have it collapse on a random turn instead.
I think this might be possible by using the touch sensor as a button, and after every turn you press it 1 (or D6) times.
after a random number it activates your bridge

does anyone else have cool ideas for using mindstorms in brikwars?

if 20 chickens can fit in a brick, how many pingpongballs does a crocodile have to eat so it can swim faster than a washing machine?

use the light sensor to make a machine gun drone, obvious really!

If you've got a lot of vehicles, four 32X32 baseplates won't be enough. Otherwise, that's about the perfect size. I think it's awesome that you're using mindstorms.

It depends on your army sizes. Also, when you make your battle, try to take pictures with a tripod and use Flower Mode on your camera so the pictures come out good. Welcome to BrikWars. :)

I brickshelf'd some base plates yesterday. Will do a write up and pics after the game. Weekend of 17th October.

I can't believe I'm so exited about this!

Four 32X32's might be enough for vehicles if it is open enugh but in any case go bigger, my battles usually take up and entire kitchen table.

4 32x32's works well in a square.
I've tryed it, if you have range weapons then build some rocks and trees to block LOS.
