Log In - password not remembered

Postby Tzan » Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:11 am

I can LogIn ok and click the remember button.

I shut down the browser, restart, I'm not logged in anymore.

This feature used to work ok here and currently works fine on other sites.

Firefox 3.5.6
Win 7

Oh yeah and hundreds of topics missing in General forum :)
Although that may have been a preemptive spring cleaning strike.

Have you recently changed your privacy settings? This can happen when you set Firefox or Windows to clear private data on closing a browser.

Its a new install of Firefox on my new machine.
I had my old machine on and I duplicated all the settings from the old machine.

So right now I can close FF and other sites remember my login but it doesn't remember here. I've closed and restarted about 5 times. Just to check, weird.

Options>Privacy>
Firefox will: Remember History

I have Security>remember passwords for sites- off
That was off on my other machine too.

I do have several cookie that expire at end of session from Brikwars, no idea what those are for

I don't see a button for clearing data on closing.
Looks like that button has been removed from current FF. I saw a picture of the old Privacy panel that had it, but its gone now.

No need to jump through flaming hoops on this on just my account.

It's a setting in Delete Browsing History, well it is for me. You need to click on the option that says Preserve Favourites Website Data.

I've been having this problem with Safari for weeks - when I logged in for the first time during the day, it wouldn't show me which threads had been recently updated - So i'd have to remember the last time I'd posted and then check which posted where new.

Now it won't remember my details at all . . . which means I can actually see which threads have been posted in, but I have to log in, each, and, every, fucking, time . . .
FUCK YOU WARHEAD.

I found the "Clear history when Firefox closes" button.

It was in a sub menu I wasn't using anyway for Custom settings.
It was not on.

I just tried using the Custom settings.
That didn't work.

weren't it the cookies that allowed the site to remember keeping you logged in?
Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

The word "autologin" is in a cookie content line.
That cookie is "expires in a year from now". marked phpbb2mysql_data

The cookies marked
phpbb2mysql_sid
phpbb2mysql_t

expire at end of session

Google Chrome is where it's at, especially if you have Windows 7 installed

Once again, Almighty Benny is right on the money.

The only thing I use Explorer for now is when I want to play Battlefield Heros.

Same here. I've been using Chrome since it was released- no problems. It's kinda funny that BFH is restricted to one browser in order to launch.
