So Let's Go

Post by EagleV » Wed Feb 03, 2010 2:43 pm

First time we heard from BrikWars was a few weeks ago, and we decided to give it a shot. Here's the result.

On one side of the town: the Cult of Cthulhu. These raving psychopats want to convince the whole world of their short-sighted and completely disturbed visions, and even went so far they built a giant Cthulhoid Mecha, obliterating anyone who doesn't believe...

Left is Mad Doc, with his personal copy of the mad Necronomicon, blasting his foes with rays of unholy fire. On the right we have Sthoghtothogoth 'call me Thog' Thogoshotothogoth, dual-wielding the Ritual Katanas and armed with his heroic ego. In the middle, the feared Mechthulhu, obliterating nonbelievers from afar with his twin-linked laser cannons or from closeby with the dreaded tesla claw.
Image

On the other side of this rural village is a force at least as vile and feared, the skeletal army of the long forgotten John "cap'n" Bright'ook. Bringing his long-forgotten crew and ancient catapult from the depths of the sea, he search only revenge...

Bright'ook is sitting on the left, and even though the mist hanging around their vehicle obscures the photograph, you can see he's holding a pneumatic drill - undoubtedly scavenged from earlier victims. In front, we have Bernard Barbossa, driver of the vehicle, and skilled catapulteer. Indeed, the giant black construction is a jet-powered catapult. Nobody knows what pirates are doing with a catapult, let alone one with turbojets, but everyone agrees it's extremely dangerous to about everything in range. On the right, we have Madeline Hawkins, although you can't really say it's a she anymore. She's armed with her good old pistol. And in the back is 'matey'. Nobody knows his real name anymore, and nobody cares. When the captain once asked what he had done with his clothes, he said it was a sensitive subject...
Image

Boringville is suddenly wide awake when the citizens see two giant war machines coming their way.
Hell will break loose soon enough. The objectives for both sides are simple: MAYHEM. Oh, and maybe killing those other guys as well.
Image

The machines start rolling towards each other, and a worker is so scared he loses control over his vehicle...
Image

Yep, he suddenly turned 180 degrees and magically created a propane tank. Why? Because it's cool. Luckily, the tank doesn't explode yet... Even though some flames appear.
Image

The house in the middle is straight in the line of fire, and needs to come down ASAP. A laser shot goes stray, but a catapult boulder lands right in the roof.
Image

The first casuality is a civillian. Thog leaps to the nearest car and lops the driver's head clean off - one car more for the cult!
Image

The celebrations don't last long, for the next moment, Thog is squashed by a rotten elehant head, fired from the catapult. Yeah. A rotten elephant head. Today's pirates, not what they used to be.
Image

While the other forces are nearing eachother, Mad Doc is suddenly assaulted by the drill-wielding Bright'ook!
Image

But before the combatants collide, the tesla claw grabs Bright'ook and crushes his ribcage! Did you know skeletal pirate zombie overlord captains bleed blue?
Image

Shrugging of a hitfrom the catapult, the rampaging mech proceeds to cut off the lower body of poor Bernard! The dried bones spontaneously combust.
Image

A stray laser shot explodes a civilian cart, and somehow the driver is crushed under his burning vehicle.
Image

The catapult misses as well, crushing a caravan. Apparently, someone was hiding inside...
Image

Another laser shot takes out a chunk of a house.
Image

Frustrated for the laser misses, the Mechthulhu throws the corpse of the captain towards Madeline, hitting her square, and the force of the throw smashes both pirates to pieces!
Image

Only matey survives the Cult's onslaught, and in a desperate attempt he mans the catapult, and the boulder crashes into the mech, blowing up the fuel tank!
Image

Mad Doc, being the only Cultist left alive, goes after Matey, while the latter hijacks the bulldozer.
Image

While Mad Doc climbs the catapult for an Overwatch, Matey rams him and sends him flying! Doc makes a crash landing in the mech remains, and Matey wins the fight for the pirates!
Image

Or does he?

Enjoy playing? It was awesome. And yes, it was the first time we played, the idea of 'make it as epic as possible and destroy everything' is not really hard to get :)

Some people have trouble with that concept.
