The sovereign sword and round pauldrons are pretty interesting for what I'm trying to do. About the pauldrons though: do they limit the movement of the minifig's arms really much and are they a bitch to put on / take off or is that all manageable?

to use the pauldrons, you need to buy "neck armor" as well. Each pauldron will hook into the neck armor, and this quality makes it very add-able / removable. As a result of the pauldron thus moving on a sort of "hinge, it allows for decent, though not free, movement of the arms for posing.
All told, I like them; it's nice flair outside of the standard black breastplate

Yeah I noticed that, just wanted to check if I was gonna buy them or not. They work really well 'cos they make your knight look more knight-ish without covering the cool torso. Most of my armour-wearing guys have torso's that wouldn't work for fantasy armies.
