Great scenery, it's nice to see so much green baseplates. Pesgores ought to be pleased. Not much to say about the fighting though, seems a bit non-epic compared to the battlefield.
Nice photography and thanks for the report. I hope it was fun participating! |

Indeed, seemed like another undermanned battle A shame, because the battlefield was epic and very inspirational - though that matters little when you don't have the parts to build one just as big yourself. |

It was rather fun. The game was a bit more chaotic then most games that I've seen. Due to the the looseness of the rules of the game What I Say Goes Rolls happened often, to decide the effect of actions like: taking the blue flowers, jumping into the volcano, eating the magic mushrooms, ect... Which, in it's own way the made the game epic. _________________ Looking for Vancouver Island players: http://www.brikwars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1194 |

That's an awesome battlefield, actually. Always wanted to run BrikWars at a con. Just for the hell of it.

It was only the first game, so each person got a ranged unit and a melee unit.
The next game was going to use larger armys; unfortunately we were unable to stay after the first game. _________________ Looking for Vancouver Island players: http://www.brikwars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1194 |

| I never stopped to think what would happen if you made WISG rolls for every event in the game, that's pretty epic. But damn, you guys needed some bigger dice. Imagine how much faster everything would have gone if you didn't have to do tiebreaker rolls for every WISG. |

That sounds reasonable, but that would require them to obtain said larger dice, I don't think they will want to bother with that. _________________ Looking for Vancouver Island players: http://www.brikwars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1194 |

Hey guys,
Joseph from VicLUG here. Great meeting you Peter, and your brother as well! I came by this thread by way of Mike and all of us in VL are getting a pretty good kick out of the videos, thanks for posting
I'll post our game variant rules soon, we're just in the process of putting them together after a few days of great gaming. We've streamlined the actual combat even more and things go along pretty snappy!
A couple of points to address from some of the comments above ^
We actually really like the WISG tie-offs, it makes them that much more covetable and hard earned, and are trying to figure out what sort of consequence might happen if you get 3 ties in a row or something. WISG is pretty much the tent pole pillar the rest of the game hangs on, it's pretty ludicrous.
One of your suggestions, Peter, we used extensivly throughout the rest of the con: the random 2d6 co-ordinates. That's great and we'll be using that again definitly. For everyone else, we had a 6x6 baseplate layout and Peter noticed that you could use that to your advantage.
We also use a d4 to figure out cardinal directions on the board, but otherwise the whole game is d6. Well, there are the multiplier and letter dice, but that's a different story. It's not for lack of having the necessary dice, jars of em, d6 makes the game very easy for anyone to pick up in minutes.
As for the lack of gore and small army comments... well. When those videos were taken, we were just getting started, literally. For the skirmishes everyone gets a ranged and melee, and for the big battles we have armies of 21. We tried armies of 60+ but it just took too long. Maybe we can figure ways out of doing big battles that are quicker, but we don't want to wait 30 min between turns. It's not for a lack of figs
There are a lot of photos to post but here are Aaron's from the event to give you an idea what went down:
