The crossbowmen let a cutting hail of arrows descend on the left flank. (I didn't like the existing rules much for firing at fighting groups of units so I let hits count as hits against the enemy and misses as hits against allies). 5 hits, 5 misses, only 1 elite swordsman survived. I seriously rolled 5 1's on the damage roll against the Bulls! Warhead you should spread out your luck a little better.

The heavy ran through the swordsman as he fell in. The black halberd only came to a stop on the sergeant's armour.

The chieftain clumsily caught a phalanx in his chain as he drew it backwards and killed him as he swung his weapon. (crit fail)

The icons were on the move as well. One killed a runner in one fell stroke.

The bullbeast leaped at Cales...

... and missed, but did land behind the enemy cavalry.

The remaining Bulls able to fight in the centre then did their best to cut the cavalry apart, but found them to be pretty tough adversaries, not easy to kill at all. The only casualty was the other Bodyguard's horse.

Another icon moved to reinforce the left flank.

The third and final one chose to support the centre.
Knights of Kerrat

A transformation was taking place with the mage who had saved up his power last round... but these were top level magics: would they be succesful?

Critical succes! The Purple Mage exceeded his own capacities and attracted the drifting spirit of another warrior. The result was a man who had perhaps come from the essence of the Purple Mage, but was completely different nevertheless. He listened to the name Skaie.

Luckily at least his allegiance hadn't changed. Skaie immediately started looking for a suitable target.

He found one in the duo the Technoviking and Blackpants, who stood unchallenged. The water demons rejoiced to see such a worthy adversary coming their way.

There was less reason to rejoice for both men when he finished the already wounded Technoviking off though.

The Technoviking doesn't dance to the music, the music dances to...?! Oh well, he should have listened to metal instead.

Blackpants and Skaie then faced each other, preparing for the inevitable fight. It wasn't so much vengeance but rather the honour there was to be had from a fight with one who had managed to kill the Technoviking that motivated him.

The fight between the berserker and the lancier lieutenant was finally decided in the knight's favour.

Garth rolled a crit or two and busted the unarmed Fishstache.

Fat Olaf was now the leader of the water demons and achieved hero status: he was still weaker than Fishtache had been but could now do full heroic feats.

Garth was to spend his heroic feat on a double attack this turn, but since Fishstache was already dead he aimed it at Fat Olaf instead, not willing to waste any more precious time on another duel.

However in his haste he forgot to catch his breathe and how spent he really was and stopped to recover (no attack next turn).

The two remainders of the Impaler squad decided to get rid of the Pumpkin.

Chaos ensued: the crossbow made contact but did nothing, the banner carrier accidentally whacked past his ally's shield and knocked him dead with his banner (crit fail) while the pumpkin chopped off his own hand as he attempted to counter. Comedy capers, anyone?
