Ambush on Ignarius

Post by Ben-Jammin » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:23 pm

I did this to show off one of Calvaria's enemies: the Chaos Rebels. I'll post pics of them in the armory later, but until then you'll just have to settle for this.... (backstory time)

A few days ago, a small town on Ignarius, a Calvarian-controlled planet, fell silent....

[img][/img]

The military sent a small task force to investigate. Few suspected they would find what they did:

[img][/img]

"I don't see anything sir"

"Just keep your eyes peeled private. Be on the lookout for any survivors."

[img][/img]

Suddenly our unaware private spots a rebel RPG!

"Oh Shit!"

[img][/img]

Before the driver can even respond, the RPG destroys the Raider in a single shot. The explosion seems to echo throughout the silence.

"What the hell?" cries the APC driver.

"Everyone out! Go! Go! Go!" yells the officer.

[img][/img]

The Calvarians leave the safety of their APC and head towards the town.

[img][/img]

Three more rebels appear out of the town and charge the APC's left flank, guns blazing.

[img][/img]

"Take this!" yells a Calvarian soldier as he fires his grenade launcher (freakin shaky pics!).

[img][/img]

The shot hits right in the middle of the rebels, killing all of them instantly.

[img][/img]

"Move you pigs!" cries the officer. Of course you don't see HIM helping...

[img][/img]

The Calvarians advance fearlessly...

[img][/img]

The first Calvarian rounds the corner of the large house and blasts the rebel RPG with his shotgun, killing him.

[img][/img]

"Suh-prise you bastard!" yells a second rebel as he bursts out of the house and blasts the Calvarian with a shotgun of his own. The Calvarian soldier procceeds to lose his head.

[img][/img]

The second rebel is then gunned down by two more Calvarians

[img][/img]

"Charge! Kill them all!" orders the rebel officer as a new group of rebels appears on the Calvarian's right flank.

[img][/img]

Unfortunatly for the rebels, the M20's turret was well within firing range of their position, and without an RPG to support them....

[img][/img]

"Well done comrades" says the officer after the last rebels are eliminated. It was later determined that the rebels in the town were merely an advance force, and although we were victorious, the prescence of chaos rebels of Ignarius is indeed disturbing. Now, all of our efforts must be focused on rooting out and destroying them.

Again sorry for the shaky pics, I was rushing because my camera started to get a low battery half-way through the battle. I will do better next time.

And don't worry, more to come on the chaos rebels as soon as my bricklink order comes in (as well as more Calvarian units :) ).

It's a neat little clash. The rebels look really good. Can't wait to see more. ^_^

Outstanding narration and great camera angles and effects setup (even if blurry).

Thanks guys. I can always get the perfect angle and then I take a pic and what happens? BLAM! Shaky pic. I just wanna shake my camera and say :fu:

I took some pics of my Republic Army a little while ago and did a much better job. They're on my Flickr, if you're interested:

Your biggest problem is that you need more light. I can barely see what's going on.

Good idea. I would have used the flash on the camera but I tried that for one pic and it was so bright the whole pic just looked white.

I also have a lamp, but it was sitting on my table when I took these pics, which were on my floor. Next time I'll move the lamp down with them and take the pics. That should be better.

Do what ever it takes because it seems a shame to build up stuff, spend the time to shoot the pictures, load the pictures, write thread, and post just to use blurry pictures.
