The Fords of Gelron (Round 3)

Post by Bragallot » Sun Mar 27, 2011 7:32 pm

Round 3

Karlus of Gelron - Rev.

Image

Karlus goes Hitlerr on Lara's forces, attacking them with gas to decrease their armour.

Image

But his feat failed and the Giant saw his own armour decreased as the gas crept over him!

Image

Regardless, he charged and hacked with his massive blade, but the axemen squad stood firm!

Fabian - RobotMonkey

Image

Fabian broke from cover and charged, attempting a feat that would allow him to go into a frenzy, but it failed and allowed the crossbowmen to fire at him again. His shield saved him from death but Fabian still took a hit.

Image

Then with a yell, he chopped through them with his regular action anyway.

Image

Knights charged and pricked Karlus with their lances, but failed to do harm.

Image

This guy ran from combat, surviving the free counter, and started moving towards Karlus as well.

Water Demons - Ogel96

Image

"To the water!"

Image

However, reactions also count against move...

Image

All save for the Royal Guard were wiped out.

Image

They reappeared safely on the other bank.

Image

"Water is thicker than blood!"

Image

The heavy swordsmen's corpses begun to stir with new life as I rolled a d6 to determine how many would rise again after Olaf's successful feat...

Image

I usually suck at this kind of rolls, but now I got a five  They're alive but unable to act until next turn.

Image

Don't run from water demons, you'll only die tired.

Image

Halberdiers attacked, but even with all that they only managed to slay one knight.

Image

A chosen warrior paired up with the swamp ogre and moved towards Fabian.

Image

These guys moved on as far as they could to support Fishstache.

Image

... who was meanwhile disabling Skaie's ability to counter him with a skillful strike...

Image

Then struck with his opponent's defenses out of the way, but only equaled his adversary's armour!

Skaie- Napalmking

Image

After this, Skaie decided to run.

"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?!" Fishstache rumbled as he struck the knight in the back of his head, taking him down to his final HP.

Image

Skaie joined with his men. "He's isolated! Shoot him now!"

A volley was loosed towards Fishstache...

Image

... who somehow managed to block nearly all of the damage

"To think I thought I'd found myself a worthy opponent! You'll drown in your blood for this!"

Image

The rest of them, baffled to see the men they just put down alive again, loosed another volley.

Image

This time the swordsmen managed to defend with their shields however.

Lara - Paco The Duck Ninja

Image

Spearmen charged, killing two halberdiers, whose counters failed to do anything.

Image

With a wave of her staff, Lara ordered the winds to knock Karlus over and they did, disrupting him.

Image

Axemen joined the melee, somehow again no one died.

Image

A whopping amount of damage from the crossbowmen took two of Karlus' HP off. The owl helped by gnawing at his foot but it didn't truly do much.

Bull Deathsquad - Warhead (but NPC'd by me this round, I either didn't receive or lost Warhead's orders)

Image

Weasle took the horse the Water Demons had liberated off its rider on a wild bull ride and rode up behind the unsuspecting Fabian, drawing his weapon back for a throw... (heroic feat)

Image

*Kathonk* "Aaagh!" A successful heroic feat combined with a fine damage roll rid the world of Fabian Von Adlersflügel.

Image

"Im...possible. And to think... how much I paid... for this armour..." *gasp*

Image

"Yes! Taste the wrath of the Bulls!"

Image

Probably rather to make himself more difficult to be picked out than any kind of bravery Weasle borrowed the knight's sword and joined the melee, but failed to kill.

Image

"That idiot managed to get himself killed! Now what?!" Should I retreat and regroup to fight another day, or risk it all trying to make up for this debacle with a victory?

Image

"Leave no one alive!"

Wow, a lot of failed rolls this round. Orders in a few. Before though: How many HP does Karlus still have?

If I've been counting right, he shouldn't have any; but I don't mind being wrong...

I wouldn't be so sure of yourself. If you're going to hurt me, your going to have to get past a bloodthirsty owl woodcarving first.

The owl frightens the living daylights out of me, but what I meant to say was that I'm pretty sure that Karlus should be "dead" right now, based on how many hp he's lost

What do you know, Karlus really is dead. And that's when I decided I should make them stronger in games to come...

Yah, the titans have seem pretty underwhelming in your current two forum battles.

True, though it's also true all of them have been pretty unlucky so far. Anyway, remember these aren't the awesome 2nd generation titans FISH!!! and Zahru use, these guys are the wimps with paper shields I accidentally got many years ago when KKII was just released: I didn't like them so they never saw much battle until I dug them up for BrikWars, they're still n00bs ;)

Hah, sounds like a sad accident. Poor rainbow n00b titans; they do deserve a beating...

Well, I had the great idea as a kid of painting rainbow armour grey since armour was pretty hard to get at that time but the new castle line at least brought it back. the FBI was going to hit the store but I was at home doing stuff so I asked her to bring some of the new sets. I stressed she shouldn't bring the big guys, just the normal sets, and then she brought all 5 (?) of the big guys. Couldn't blame her at the time though, she went through the effort and I got them for free, KK II sets probably wouldn't have done me much good and I have tons of armours now. Now I consider them somewhat useful, though the 2nd gen definitely look better (these guys are also a bitch to pose).

So are g2 knights, but oh my, it sucks when you get something else than intended... I prefer to use them as majistik prototypes (I have another one lying somewhere, in pieces).

I liked KK2, or at least the Vladek sets I owned (Vladek Castle, Prison Rescue, Dark Knight Transport, Dark Fire Catapult). The Rogue Knights and Jayko stuff was bleh, though. I actually have the giant king in its bin downstairs. (maybe I'll have my king injest some growth hormones?)
