Aren't guns supposed to be bad for survival because they attract attention?

I have always been a huge fan of zombies and have been wondering about how you could get your very own zombie buddy.
So I thought could you capture a zombie and cut a piece out of the central nerves in his neck and replace it with a metal 'nerve'that could be turned on and off with a remote. This way when he would come to close to you the device switches of and thus paralyzing your zombie buddy temporarily from the neck down.

I still think the best place to hide out from zombies is a hardware store. You have power tools (including saws and nail guns), small forklifts and mobile stairs, and enough 2x4s to barricade every entrance, and then some.

It would be even better to find one that has a little fast food restaurant in it (there's a Home Depot with a Harvey's about 20 minutes from my house), because then you have lots of rations.

The problem is that many people think this and you can expect competition.

Have you ever been in a big hardware store? There's plenty of room for people in there.

I also just realised that everyone could sleep on the top of those huge shelf units, so it would be harder to find and get to them.

Oh dear. Time for the everyone's zombie plans.

When it comes, I'm bunking at Cosco for the first few weeks. They have absolutely frigging everything that I could use that isn't firearms, I've got that at home. Stop by Walmart for an ammo run, screen everyone that enters the Cosco for bites, and eventually once a few clean survivors are assembled, pack up a three-van caravan full of supplies and head for the hills- specifically a cousin's 300-acre ranch. We could construct a fence around the property and quietly kill any zeds that wander in.

The thing is, I'm optimistic. I believe that the United States, could, as a country, pull through a zombie outbreak through aggressive action.

But really, if you haven't read WWZ yet do it.

Sorry, but this statement kind of blew me away. You're saying that a book about a fictional event that hasn't happened yet is "inaccurate." That's like saying the shit that happened in the movie "2012" was inaccurate.

That was just dumb.

You almost would have to worry about other survivors more than zombies because some people probably would just kill other people for supplies.

....

I found that book to be the most accurate interpretation of a zombie apocalypse I had ever seen.

Second'd.
