Return to Dawnport - Rise of the Destroyer

Post by Zahru II » Thu Jun 16, 2011 3:45 pm

Liana, Gil and Bjarn returned to Dawnport with some drakhirri along their sides to temporarily remedy the lack of warriors in the town, however the sight that greeted them was definitely not what they were expecting...

Image

'My goodness... what happened here?'

'NOOOOOOOOOOOO!'*sobs*

'Someone really messed this place up.'

Image

*cough, cough* 'Lady... Liana? Is that you?'

Image

'Officer! Tell me, what happened here?'

Image

'After you left, I sent some of my men to contact Ursa Hold as well. Those who remained here, guarded the town by my side. The mood was really tense, and people were afraid of a possible future attack... however, what we least expected...'

Image

'Is that the assault would happen from within! A throng of men suddenly overrun us.'

Image

'We reluctantly tried to scare them off... you know how battles go with peasantry, hehe, swing your sword and they run screaming... but they were different. They attacked without emotions, without fear... pressing on relentlessly.'

Image

'We stood our ground, and pledged that killing would be our last resort.'

Image

'Too bad they had different morals than we did. I gazed into my foe's eye before killing him... an empty gaze of void was all I could found. I could not comprehend this madness. As the throng of peasants slowly slaughtered my men my mind felt numb and for a split second the world seemed to have dissolved around me...'

Image

'A moment later I opened my eyes, only to see everybody dead and the town hall leveled to the ground, which cracked as if the titans tried to tore it apart. A crimson funnel of flame was erupting out of the chasm, all I could think of was that something had exploded with quite force... it even knocked my helmet off.'

Image

'I gazed into the flames, only to see them giving birth to a man. A warrior, resembling a savageman, yet he was wielding an elegant blade. He had a maniac grin on his face, he seemed to find joy in the death and bloodshed which was in front of him.'

Image

'Whatever it was, I knew he was my enemy. I prepared for the worst.'

Image

'He came closer to me, with the same morbidly delighted expression on his face. It was terryfing... my hand was shaking although I've braced myself.'

Image

'He understood that I would not let him pass... we both swung our swords.'

Image

'He was quicker. With an effortless blow he tore my arm off and sent me to the ground, I never had a chance.'

Image

'Then he picked me up and said: 'Cherish this moment, worm. This is the last time that the Destroyer left anyone alive.' I looked at him and saw sadistic delight in his visage.'

Image

'Then he simply left. I don't know how much time had passed, Lady Liana. All I know is that I failed... and now... I shall die in shame.'

Image

'No... this was not your fault officer. You did your best. Rest in peace.'

Image

'Why the long face lad? You said you hated this place!'

'That may be true Bjarn... but still, it was the town where I grew up. Ironic isn't it? I always wanted to leave... and now when literally nothing connects me here anymore... I simply can't.

Later:

Image

'We have checked every nook and cranny. Apparently noone survived.'

Image

'Umm, mylady...'

'I know, I know. You did what you where assigned to. Our contract is over, as their is nothing to guard. You may leave.'

Image

'Halt! Explain yourselves!'

'I am Liana Crowclaw of the knightly order. And who are you, noble ritter?'

'I am the knight of the Ursar, Nikodim. We were sent here to fortify the defenses of Dawnport.'

'There is no need to do so, ritter. Dawnport is dead.'

'What's the meaning of this? Did the orks attacked? Have we came to late? Nevertheless, we will check the town personally, then you and your companions are coming with me, back to Ursa Hold. I'm sure Lord Nikodim would be interested in your story.'

Image

'Fine, we shall join you. But first, let's do what has to be done. There's a lot of men to bury.'

And thus ends the first 'Chapter' of the storyarc. Stay tuned, it's very likely that I'll have a new battle next week.

I had a feeling the town would be dead from the start :(
however the sight that greeted them was definitely not what they were expecting...
I thought for a moment you'd made some Falx! :)

Either way, this is equally interesting, maybe even more... especially if it's gonna develop in the way I hope it will.

:man: I'd love to, but right now I could only make one trooper. Nevertheless, it goes on the 'stuff that I want to make in the future' list.
Unfortunately, it's a long-long list.

Yes! this is going to be even better than the Coming Storm! Also, I like the god, but if I were you I'd switch it out with the ninjago Dragon Sword that's coming out... hopefully soon. that thing is beastly, and would go great with the destroyer.

And I request a revivification of the dead officer, on the skellies side? :D

*kills enders for wanting to undeadify my brave officer*

Tell me about it  I'm amazed you even have plans to make some, great! Everything that combines red and black or even dark red with some other colour is just fine though, they're a big Republic with many different uniforms (kinda like the Brittanians), so sticking to stuff that's easy to get is no problem at all.

Storyline's getting worryingly awesome... At first I was a bit worried 'he' (;)) did this stuff.

It's definitely Konan the Barb-Aryan.

For some reason, I find similarities between Gil and Luke Skywalker. Grew up in the middle of nowhere, wants to get away, and then everybody close to him dies...
