Many politicians were against negotiating with the rebels, that they will not allocate an inch of their hard earned city to these terrorists.

"When this new city was first thought of, not many figure it was a possible. Thus, many of us went into a dark place, a savage place. I know we lost many in the process, we've stabbed at each others backs for just survival. Well, brothers, no more shall we suffer this fate, no more shall we be the shadows of the empires of the BRIKVERSE. We shall take our crown, we shall make our home, and from this point on, be proud members of New Metro!" - Willingston

Basic Summary

After the less known LEGO WAR II (YEAR 1967-1981), a wealthy aristocrat, John Willingston tried to rebuild the world around them. Realizing that this was impossible, the only way was to make peace with the Brikverse Space Scrapers, and find haven on a new planet. Eventually, New Metro became a large beacon of civilization and thrived under the ruler ship of Willingston. New Metro, although is not considered an intergalactic entity, or an empire, New Metro in itself is a powerful city-state. The world of Estonna Prime is a super moon orbiting a red giant in the outer rims of the galaxy. Although distant, New Metro controls and facilitates intergalactic trade routes. Despite having a smaller military force than other forces (like M: Throne), New Metro instead relies on their financial ties to the INTERGALACTIC STOCK EXCHANGE, or I.S.E., which is also located in neutral space to influence intergalactic politics.

Early Years

In the beginning, the world of Estonna Prime had a very dense, toxic atmosphere that made life very hard living on the world. However, over time, through the use of atmospheric tera-formers, the planet's atmosphere became more balanced. With little land mass, the inhabitants of New Metro had to utilize whatever space they could, and realized that their future would be space bound. Throughout the first few decades, the provisional government set up by Willingston was a temporary commune based off of just surviving. But, as the city grew, and life no longer was focused on surviving, a newer constitutional charter was written up, not just by Willingston, but by ten other representatives from the five districts.

There was violence within the streets up to the new charter, the provisional government had a difficult time dealing with the Old World Insurrectionists, who wanted nothing to do with Willingston's 'glorious future', and had feared old political habits. Moreover, there was a number of citizens that feared that Willingston's provisional government was just a proxy for another fascist regime, considering there was numerous accounts of documents connecting Willingston and the Nationalists Fascist Party before Lego War II. Even with all this information linking him, the provisional committee could not impeach him, claiming that there was lack of evidence.

The rebellion was in its full swing by the third year of the new charter. The Old World Insurrectionists had taken over two out of the five districts, and had full control over the STARPORT. However, they had still failed to take full control of the military district. The 2nd Nationalist Home Guard eventually took back the districts by dropping thermobaric pressure bombs in the heavy concentration of rebels. In the aftermath, more than 10,000 were found dead in the streets, with civilian casualty at over 40,000. The newly formed Congressional Board had realized that if they were not to find a diplomatic solution quick, that their past would come creeping back in. Many politicians were against negotiating with the rebels, that they will not allocate an inch of their hard earned city to these terrorists.

In the following months, the Congressional Committee had come together with the insurrectionists in the Military District to discuss terms of a new truce. Despite the two parties signing the truce, the fighting in the Commercial District ensued for another 24 hours. Many soldiers on both side took this opportunity to lash out their frustration, and hatred to one another. Some historians say that the bloodiest battle was the last 24 hours, the "Hour Glass Battle".

Economy

Despite being the smallest civilization, New Metro has a remarkable economy. Moreover, New Metro relies on intergalactic investing to make their money. Although their trade and arms industry is strong, it does not compare to the profits made by the I.S.E.. With its loose business regulations, New Metro is considered one of the most laissez faire economies, apart from federal incentives in place for businesses to open up in New Metro.

On an outer moon near the rims of the solar system is an industrial colony that produces enough steel to fuel the New Metro war machine five times over. Moreover, this unnamed industrial colony is infamously known to have political prisoners (communists, fascists, corrupt politicians)as slave labor. Although the colony is named MC-123980A2, but to the inhabitants this hell hole is called Purgatory. The material produced by this colony is then expedited throughout the system for arms manufacturing.

Military

A new peace keeping military force was created under their rule, the ULPC, or the United Lego Peace Keeper Corps, the force shown below is the prestigious 20th Mechanized Unit, famous for their defense from the Old World Insurrectionists. The 20th Mechanized Unit sets the standard for all other Peace Keeping units. Although lacking in size, their training, and savagery in combat makes up for their numbers. The 20th Mechanized Unit is notorious for executing all prisoners of war, despite the gender, or age. In one siege on an outer rim mining colony, the 20th Mechanized Unit along with the ULPC Intelligence agency authorize the use of mass solar arrays to reflect onto the surface of the planet, smelting their plastic bodies onto the ground. Any survivors of the mining colony were hunted down and pacify with extreme prejudice. Because of their methods in combat operations, many of the members wear full helmets, or masks to protect their identities.

Much of their equipment deployed onto the battlefield reflect their philosophy on war, that war is not a war between two rivaling philosophies, but rather there are the living and the dead. Their tools are not on par with most civilizations, the ULPC military does not employ mechs, hover tanks/speed bikes, but text book military hardware that has one role, and one role only to kill. The military tacticians in command believe in overwhelming firepower, along with conventional mobility to outflank, and choke the enemy once they have been battered down. Their pompous belief in firepower also is one of their weaknesses, sometimes expending too much munitions before a major assault, or spreading their lines too thin. Despite being a fast deploying military force, The ULPC lack a sufficient space naval fleet, and has only one super carrier within the sector that can ferry troops, and equipment.

However, with a change in political administrations, came also change in military. The Intelligence Agencies were no longer able to sanction the use of unconventional weapons of mass destruction, or the use of chemical warfare (nail polish remover/simple green). Many felt within the ULPC that their military had gain too much power, and violated intergalactic humanitarian regulations. Although no such amount of force was backed by the ULPC, their military still had the authority to pacify Old World Insurrectionists however they pleased. In more recent reports by the Lego Yellow Cross, the ULPC military was engaged in unsanctioned kill missions where entire families would be executed, and the bullets dug out of their bodies. More reports indicate the use of mining nukes to eliminate off world agricultural colonies where insurrectionists were rumored to be finding haven in.
