Hey guys! I just wanted to check in! Brikwars has been slow to nonexistent so far this summer, but we remain committed to this event and to the game in general! I think once the fall hits we'll be able to get more regular games going. That said, the weekend of August 20th is still set aside for a gi...

April 30th in Philly, 300 pt. tournament!

Hey guys! The first of our monthly-ish Brik Wars tournaments begins this week! Armies should be 300 pts. (no more than 10 pts. over) and should use rules from the 2010 rules when available, but 2005 rules for construction (to fill in the 2010 gaps) and rules from the wiki, etc., are fine with approv...

bigbigdogbig: This will be our first tournament, and I don't really know what to expect. It sounds like there are a few people coming from the boards and we have a fair few locals. I'd estimate 8 to 12 people, probably. I don't want you to come all the way down and be disappointed by the turnout, th...

Yes! Every Saturday at noon, we're playing! Plus, there's a tournament in the evening one of those Saturdays toward the end of the month. So far, we've had 8 unique players between the different game days we've held, and the other three owners besides me have all put some thought or effort into armi...

Hey guys! After feedback from our Monday Brik Wars in March, we've decided to move Brik Wars to Saturday afternoons in April. So, no more Mondays! Saturday afternoons at noon from here on out!

Ted's actual name is Alexei. And the dude on the horse is just a skeletal champion. (:

I definitely want to work up to doing larger battles, and obviously for the big event in August I want to have the largest, most ridiculous battle we can have, but I'm trying to start out slow and those of you with large armies can always field just a small portion of it. I think I'm going to go wit...

Yeah, 300cp was my first thought. Last week, we played one big game with everyone at around 100cp, which was great for an introductory game. I'd like to do much higher eventually, but I'd rather take baby steps to get there. 300 by the end of April seems totally reasonable.

For a year, we had the same address as the bowling alley that took up part of the same building. Thankfully, they've been out of business for a year now.

And yes, there will be points caps on the tournaments, but I haven't figured out what they are yet. What's a reasonable point value, do you think?

So, here's where things stand with Philadelphia and Brik Wars: 1) We're running casual Brik Wars nights ever Monday at 6PM. Last week's was a lot of fun, and I'm excited about the upcoming one! 2) We're running tournaments sporadically, on Saturdays, with the first one set for April 30th, the next s...

Yeah, that's where I'm getting confused. I've been using the 2010 rules as my reference, and it pretty clearly says that the speed rating of the unit is irrelevant, it only matters what actual speed it's traveling, but since sprinting is technically an action and not part of movement, I wasn't sure ...

Sprinting and Movement Penalties

I don't have much BrikWars experience, but I'm going to be running BrikWars events at my store soon, so I'm reading through the rulebook, typing up a cheat sheet of rules so that when I'm teaching customers to play, we have a quick reference without having to over-rely on What I Say Goes rolls. Anyw...

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. You mean have them open up accounts to post on these forums? I've certainly pointed all of our customers who are interested in the game in the direction of this website (mostly for the rules), but whether or not they post on the forums is up to them. I haven'...
