Pennyarcade Adventures On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One is out. I played the demo and it's awesome!

On Windows, Mac, and Linux, I might actually buy this.

All you need to know about Penny Arcade: http://xkcd.com/50/
That's a very strange sentiment coming from xkcd, where you need to have studied 300-level courses in math, physics, computer science, or who-knows-what to understand any particular strip.youaredoome0 wrote:All you need to know about Penny Arcade: http://xkcd.com/50/

Yeah, I get most of the jokes too. But, unlike Penny Arcade, knowing what xkcd is talking about might actually help you get a job. There's more opportunity for people who are experts in advanced mathematics than for people who are experts in video game history.Rody wrote:Or, like me, actually understand much of what they talk about.

I enjoyed XKCD until I started noticing reoccuring math themes... and nerd math poetry... Then I began to hate it and read it out of spite for my eyes. Or rather, I stopped reading it. You see, I was abused my numbers as a child, and math and I really aren't on speaking terms. Penny Arcade's Tycho is far more enjoyable for his wordy way of wording simple or deceptively simple concepts.
The friggin game:
Here's what you need to know: It's funny in a "this is entirely improbable" way. If you are not aware of H.P. Lovecraft, the Fruit F**ker clockwerk robot, or enjoy RPG/adventure games, you'd be wise to stray from this game, get some culture, and return to enjoy it. All this being said the game is rather expensive, and with 3 more episodes incoming, expect to shell out $80 for the entire product.

You will indeed, and the only thing you will have to go on is the humor, which is bountiful. They did make a large number of "fixes" to RPGs to keep them interesting (HP returns to full after battles, some degree of minigame skill required), But I think your largest problem will be that it's only been released on the Xbox 360 and PC. No PS3 for you.
