The Battle for the Derelict Ship - Turn 6

Post by Joshua » Fri Jun 24, 2022 4:09 pm

Sorry for the delay, life happens!

Battlecruiser - Thetrollgineer

Image
The Battlecruiser focuses fire on the Eagle it shot at previously, bombarding it with laser shot after laser shot.

Image
The Eagle is completely destroyed, unable to digest that amount of firepower.

Image
Thankfully the bridge detaches from the burning wreck, and flies away as fast as it can.

Image

Assyrians - Cracjaw

Image
The Star of Assyria continues to fly away from the battle, and restores a shield point as well.

Image
The fighters decide to engage the Battlecruiser, opening fire as they fly directly at it.

Image
Both shots connect, but fail to breach the Battlecruiser's armor.

Image
Sensing the end is near, and realizing this is their best bet at damaging the Battlecruiser, both fighters kamikaze into the hulking ship!

Image
They manage to chip off another SP.

Neo-Prussia - Bragallot

Image
After boosting weapons, the remaining Eagle and the Dominator turn around to engage the Battlecruiser.

Image
FIRE EVERYTHING! :all:

Image
They take 2 more SP off the behemoth.

Image
The remaining mobhunters regroup and get into formation.

Image
They fire a laser volley right at the Yamato Cannon, but due to poor damage rolls, it survives intact.

Image
Then the fighters use their remaining movement to get out of the Battlecruiser's way.

The Himmelsjäger attempts to convince the Assyrians to stop fighting, but fails.

Akkadians - ArchyX74

Image
The Assault Cruiser fires one of it's boarding pods at the Battlecruiser!

Image
Unfortunately the pod suffers a critical failure and explodes on the Battlecruiser's port side instead of docking.

Image
After failing to somehow boost the weapon systems with booze, the Akkadians fire at the Battlecruiser. They fail to damage it, however.

Image
Then the Cruiser continues moving forward.

Image
The Akkadian fighters make their way back towards the derelict ship, but now find an Assyrian cruiser in their path.

Immortals - NPC

Image
The last Immortal missile relentlessly chases it's target, narrowly missing response fire from the anti-fighter guns.

Image
BOOM! It impacts onto the shields, knocking them offline.

Meanwhile, inside the Assault Cruiser:

Immortals

Image
The Terrorkhan continues to attack the Akkadian marine, but once again, she just barely manages to parry his blade.

Image
The shotgun guy moves up and somehow manages to miss at nearly point-blank range!

Image
Two more Immortals advance and combine fire onto the Akkadian officer.

Image
After having his hand cut off and being roasted with flames, he finally bites the dust.

Image
The flamer again torches the Akkadians.

Image
And again the flames prove to be ineffective.

Akkadians

Image
These marines return fire, but one's rifle jams.

Image
Thankfully just one was enough to drop another Immortal!

Image
And the female marine successfully disengages and opens fire onto the Terrorkhan, but fails to pierce his armor.

Image

Akkadian Marine: "Fall back! We've been overrun!"

Image

Image
And so, the Akkadians bail.

Image
They regroup in the hallway.

Image
And at the other end, the much needed reinforcements finally arrive! A MAOX wielding a morning-star minigun, and an Akkadian dual-wielding OTCs arrive.

Image
They get into a more favorable position and brace themselves.

Image
And just like that, the Immortals arrive.

Well shit. At least we tried.
Fighters, ignore the assyrians and just go around em. Try not to get caught in AA fire. If we have any boarding pods left, launch one at the battlecruiser. We are hijacking that motherfucker one way or another. As far as feats go I guess we'll try filling some missiles with booze alongside explosives, see what that'll do.

Alright, the deadline for Turn 7 orders is Monday night, because I have to clean up the microspace battlefield by Tuesday.

I will play out Turn 7 and then continue with the orders until all ships are destroyed, retreat, etc. I will still be able to play out any boarding action still taking place, but the main battlefield will have to go!
