The Liossan line advances, line breaking down around the pond.
They have reached the fence gate and a tense stare down ensues.
Elsewhere, the peasant ladies are killed in a way most befitting landless serfs: quickly and without incident.
"Doth thee mind?" the enginer says to the last frightened peasant.
Boom! The mortar fires!
However, the weapon misses terribly, landing harmessly with much fanfare amongst the sheep.
Two sheep are killed, including the prized goat, and the rest scatter.
Three crossbow bolts sail wide, unable to find their targets.
"How dareth these brigands violate mine own serfs in this way! Mine own peasant shields were not to beest done harm!" shouts Keaton, to no one in particular. His crossbowman nod sagely.
He continues, "I calleth anon upon mine own wise and loyal attorneys! cometh maketh these daws payeth for destroying mine own property!"
"Now, let me take point on this one. Passing the Bar was one thing, but working with a client is a totally different thing. Pay close attention, it'll be a breeze," Saul Corningstone III says to his new partner, Godfried.
"Hey! Keaton, my man!" Saulshouts up to the great lord.
"Thee behold liketh nay attorney I has't ev'r seen! what manner of dresseth is this? I doth not recognizeth it. The young knave seemeth more appropriate in this task, I bethink!" Keaton shouts down.
Saul chuckles loudly so that his client will hear. "Ha! Good one, sir, but I assure you that I am more than capable of handling this task. My partner here is just here to observe. What can we do for you today!"
"Those gents has't slain mine own peasants!" Keaton cries.
"All right, all right, let me take care of--" Saul begins, before a loud throat clearing from nearby cuts him off.
"Let us not be too hasty," the voice says.
"Good day, I am Cartwright Chumblebum, and I represent the Liossan--"
"Hold on, hold on," Saul interrupts, "I think I've seen you before. Don't tell me.... hold on..."
"I assure you, I am not a mass produced officially licensed product from a major entertainment conglomerate, nor is young scribe to be understood as a child prodigy in the same major motion picture saga based on a best selling line of books."
"Oh, well," Saul says, "please, excuse me for making assumptions."
"Quite all right, but please, let us return to business," Cartwright says, "I believe there was mention of an alleged incident involving the property of one Keaton Greatsteel, is that right?"
"Hey, hey! Let's not get too hasty, my new friend. Why don't we have lunch and talk this out, huh?"
The attorneys and their associates sit down for an extended business lunch, served by the finest of...
Wait a minute... that's... is that a Brootalz kawfee clerk??
(This action will take time to resolve, space bunny!)
While the attorneys begin their talk of vacation houses, cheating the working class, and injunctions, the Vasli troops charge.
The poor lad is tossed aside.
Despite taking the Liossan officer two-on-one, both Vasli soldiers crit-fail their attack roll and unfortunately drop their spears. They glance at one another nervously. Their foe, however, fails to hit on his counter. Everyone stares menacingly.
"I cannot believeth nay one hast perished!" Keaton says, disappointed.
"Bro, two of your peasants literally just died," says a voice from the ether.
"Nay, it cannot be," Keaton shakes his head.
"You are trying to sue the Liossans for doing it!" the voice continues.
"Ah, yes, maybe I do recall such a thing..."
As punishment for his cruelty and hubris, this serf vanishes in a fine red mist.
Wait, what's this?
A flapping of wings is heard on the wind...
A great dragon, red and fierce, lands upon the field, full of fight and fire.
With a great heave he breathes a long stream of furious flame into the building.
(More pics because it was so hard to set up)

It is Athelard! The great hero of Liossa glares at the foe from his terrible beast before extending his sword to Keaton in challenge.
Keaton stares with wide eyes. "But, it was implied if it be true I did stay off mine own pegasus this wouldst not befall!"
"Well, maybe plan for the unexpected," the voice appears again.
"Cometh then, beast, alloweth us doth battle together!"
And so the stage is set.
