The Legionnaires advance and fire.
The last Luchardsko units on the line perish.
The Jump troops surround and engage the Devastator.
She is slain easily and the troops land on the bunker.
The Terrorkhan hits an IM trooper from afar.
Eldon strikes not for Dienekes, but for his hand...
The OTC sails away.
Eldon moves to follow up against the unarmed hero.
"WAIT!"
Everything freezes and Dienekes crosses his arms in a huff.
"Excuse me??? Hello??" he shouts into the void.
"Yeah?" a mysterious fig materializes nearby.
"Am I really about to die?" Dienekes asks.
"Yeah, you didn't roll well," the fig says with a shrug.
"Okay, but I'm a Quantumsurfer."
"And?"
"And that means I can't die."
"Well, sort of. You're not immune to damage. You still have stats and stuff."
Dienekes' eyes narrow. "A Quantumsurfer isn't supposed to lose."
"Dienekes," the fig says patiently, "that's not always how it works. The dice spoke and you're just going to have to understand that."
"So... this is it?"
"No, but you're going to have to take a break. You can't just manipulate the dice."
Dienekes considers for a moment. "I've literally seen you fudge-"
The fig holds his hand up, silencing the Quantumsurfer.
"If you accept the results with a little humility, I'll share something with you that you can use to help your scientist friend."
Dienekes nods, and the world spins back into action.
The strike lands and Dienekes is thrown halfway across the map, thudding against the walls of an ancient ruin with a cough and splutter of blood.
"That hurt," he wheezes.
"Y̷̻̓̈́̇̑̐̕O̸̼͓͕̦̫̣̊͆̈́̈́U̷͙̲͙̲̓̂̽͒͊̕'̴̡̭͓͔͈͗͐̕R̶̬̤̠͖̀͝͝Ê̴̳͖̥̤̙̝̋ ̴̝̟̼͔̞̼͊̊͛͂ͅM̴̨̞̖̣̮̣̠̊̊̈́͛I̸̟̹̰̖̯̿̌̌ͅN̵̨͉̭̞̭͎̺̅͝Ĕ̵̢̝͙̆" Eldon screams from the trench.
Dienekes watches his foe, once his closest friend, sail through the air with malevolence.
"Ḑ̴̨̛̬͍̝͉͐́͌̓̈́̕I̸͇̙̮͋͒̓͊̈Ę̶̙̦̤̮̳̣̔̿̑͆̃̕!!"
With a resounding flame the blade arcs and deals immense damage to the wounded Quantumsurfer.
Eldon draws back and finds that nothing remains of the Skion hero... and his OTC has vanished with him...
The Brootalz push forward into the Phalanx.
Unfortunately, they both die to swift counters after failing to do damage.
The War Manager finds the bunker door locked. He shoots it, like any good Brootal would, but the attack is defeated.
He pulls a sword, last of his force, and prepares to fight.
The mage performs a feat, with great success, to find the explosives inside the Headhunter and detonate them with magik.
It's so effective that it is toppled and destroyed.
The rocket launcher aims carefully...
(And I didn't get a photo, oops, but it killed 2 Legionnaires and destroyed the tank barrier.)
The others fire at Artor and take 1HP.
Up move these silly minions.
Mr. Skeltal steps up to the Phalanx, but his attack is defeated by their armor. In turn, they fail to counter effectively.
A Devastator activates his boost pack toward the advancing IM.
With a shout he brutalizes one of the troopers.
The other commandeers the machine gun.
Since his arcs are covered by allies, he contents himself by obliterating the IM officer.
The last Devastator scores a kill with his mortar pack.
The Luchardsko reinforcements move up. The machine gunner tries to finish off the War Manager but rolls too low. The other sprints toward action.
Artor takes the machine gun from the Devastator.
"Hey Imperial Magikstrate! Here's a suggestion! Why don't you just DIE!"
He fails, and the gun meekly falls apart in his hands.
Behind him, the arriving troopers move up. One fails to harm the War Manager and the Medik sprints to help a fallen comrade (he can try and revive him next turn).
The Phalanx succeed in harming Mr. Skeltal, chopping one of his skeletal legs clean off. In return, he is unable to harm them.
This trooper realizes he can do something about he minions and quickly blows one away.
