~150 soldiers
~10" total construction

The Grand Galactic Empire was founded in B.R. 2009 with the express goal of building an awesome blue-white SHIP. Prior to Ragbablok, the titular head of the empire was the immortal Golden Emperor, who often rode into battle flanked by his Jedi Cavalry. Law and order is now maintained by the Imperial Navy, consisting of five regional fleets: Western Coast, Mon Stella, Core Alpha, Core Omega, and Exploratory. The Western Coast Fleet patrols and protects the border between the Empire and the Council of 500.

Shown here is the WC Fleet Command Group, commanded by Admiral Oswald Lyons. His fleet flagship is the Katana-class destroyer/carrier Artemis. The remaining units in the Imperial Navy's standard battlegroup are: 2 Chickadee interceptors, 2 Valkyrie I space superiority fighters, a Valkyrie II heavy fighter, a Seagull support shuttle, and several ground support vehicles. Lyons is a war hawk whose aggressive attitude has often led to tense diplomatic situations, but has also effectively prevented incursions by Counciliar forces. His fleet boasts the most skilled pilots and tactical officers in the entire navy and joint operations are usually commanded from the Artemis's CIC.

Army Wishlist:
- A light corvette, something around 80 studs long. (In progress)
- A bomber (In Progress)
- More ground troops and ground artillery
- More dakka on the Artemis (Refit incoming)
- Ground vehicles
- Valkyrie refit

Imperial Regulars (22): The GGE's infantry is well-equipped as an expeditionary force, each member fully self-sufficient and equipped with a low-maintenance heavy rifle.

Imperial Specialists (6): The Regulars are reinforced with medics (left) and scouts (right). The scouts are armed with repeater rifles. Center left is Luke Skywalker 23, commanding officer of ground troops. His assistant, Jyn Erso, provides field support as a Commander.

Imperial Rangers (7): General Leia Organa's Rangers are fierce fighters, armed with a variety of weapons and specialties. Of note are the two heavies in this group, one with an RPG and the other with a minigun.
Image

Imperial Space Marines (4): Space Marines are experts at breaching enemy fortifications and vessels. Marines are armed with a low-oxygen variant of the standard Imperial rifle and riot shields.
Image

Imperial Naval Officers (12): The Navy has a variety of specialists and crewmen, including Tek officers (left) and Helmsmen (right). There are two commanding ranks, Captain (center left) and Admiral (center right). Shown here are Captain Mamoru Kodai of the North Wind and Admiral Oswald Lyons of the Western Coast Fleet.

Naval Doctors (3): Ship's doctors are another fixture within the Imperial Navy.

Valkyrie Squad (15): Admiral Lyons' fighter wing, Valkyrie Squadron, is equally at home in space as they are running spec ops on the ground. From left to right: Shuttle Pilot, Experimental Pilot, Captain Wedge Antilles, Flight Instructor Hera Syndulla, Ground Coordinator Chewbacca.
Image

The Golden Emperor (1): The Emperor is an ancient, metal-based being who has ruled the GGE from its inception. It is believed that the Emperor is immortal (but it is not clear if he's Capital-I Immortal.) He is seen here with his trusted advisor, Secretary Snape.
Image

Laser Masters (10): The Emperor's honor guard, the Laser Masters, rides into battle alongside him. They are led by Luke Skywalker Zero-Zero.

Agreed, it is a very nice SHIP indeed.

I miss the days of the old SHIP arms race. Caid Sector and the like. This fleet would have fit in perfectly.

Thanks! I was introduced to Brikwars right around that era so I was heavily influenced by those SHIPs. I guess I am a little late to the party.

I've never actually gotten to post all the SHIP's I've built so I will post them here as a sort of "history of Imperial capital ships." Many pictures, so I put the thing in a spoiler tag. There are 11 generations featured within, but I can think of several intermediate versions that I failed to photograph.

Imperial Naval History: Warships
Spoiler
Show
In B.R. 2,009, the Grand Galactic Empire commissioned its first flagship. Little more than a shuttle, the Phaeton was armed only with small weapons and a toilet. Nevertheless, it was among the largest vessels in the galaxy at the time. The discovery of significant brik resources (particularly many long teknik beams) later in the B.R. led to an apocalypse known as "A Lot of Sorting" that radically changed the balance of power in the galaxy.
Image

As B.R 2,010 rolled in, the GGE finally had the resources to build its first true SHIP. Blocky and armed with only two turrets, the new corvette had a short service life before being scrapped for parts for the next generation of warships.
Image

In B.R. 2,011, the Artemis was commissioned as a direct response to the corvettes being built by the Council of 500. The Artemis was built wider and taller than previous ships, allowing for more creature comforts within, including a holoprojection table that served as a CIC and diplomatic meeting space. The table proved so popular that it has become a fixture of Imperial ships since then. The Artemis served with distinction in The Great Barnacle Wars, protecting many minifigs from the strange ball-jointed monsters invading the galaxy.
Image

After the threat of Barnacles passed, the GGE saw fit to commission a new class of corvette that was sturdier, more streamlined, and more dedicated to combat. They were wrong about both the decision and the design, and the new corvette did not make it past the holidays of B.R. 2012.
Image

In B.R. 2013, the Naval Corps of Engineers returned home from college and invested more time in inventive warship designs, particularly the corvette shown below. It proved to be too innovative for the admiralty (and at under 100 studs long, too short to be an effective capital ship), but many of its features, like its sloped armor and elevated bridge, would survive into future flagships.
The design will be revived for a new escort frigate to serve in the modern fleet.
Image

In B.R 2014, the NCE developed a new vessel, fulfilling a long-time dream of the navy to have a carrier. First, the engineers came up with a small interceptor well suited for a carrier deck, then built a warship around it. In addition, the bridge could be used as a lifeboat. The corvette carrier was built asymmetrically, a requirement at the time due to budgetary restraints. They also abandoned the blue stripe aesthetic for a two-tone design that allowed them to use more blue briks and hearkened back to old-school aquatic navies. I've been watching a lot of Space Battleship Yamato.
Image

Development stalled for a few years, leading many to wonder if the Navy had finally found the multi-use capital ship they had been looking for all these years. It turned out that the NCE had simply been trapped in the drafting room the whole time, but when they emerged in B.R 2,017, they had something that was even bigger and better. They finally moved up a weight class to destroyer. They continued to support the effective Chickadee interceptor, and kept the asymmetric hangar design for aesthetics this time. They tripled the dakka and added nearly 50 studs of length. The nose was redesigned to serve as a powerful battering ram. This new SHIP is under continuing development, primarily around the greebles, guns, and guts of the vessel.
Image

Some other SHIPs that never left the drawing board because building in LDD is boring (ca. B.R. 2009-2011):

Whose idea was this keel?
Image

This was going to be a full-fledged carrier but only the top deck was designed:
Image

Just a simple cargo ship, it was 100 studs long though:

Cool army. I like the SHIP and the white-blue colorscheme. On the other hand I think the faction needs a more specific name.

I like the SHIP. It's got some interesting details and cool guns. I also like the vertical-wing spaceship in the back of the photo.
