Nice, nice.

LEGO chess would be a lot of fun to set-up. Playing it would be exactly the same, unless you did some creative rules-blending with Brik Wars.

That's a cool chess set, and I've been considering buying one to get the crap-ton of minis...

And yeah, I think if you mized the rules it'd be wicked.

LEGO Chess Rules
Play as if normal chess, but also using Brikwars rules.

Think that should cover it.

I'd say for Brikchess, Chess movement for the different pieces, all close combat and can only move one piece a turn. Nothing about not attacking that nice peon right next to you even though you didn't move...

no, he's right. it's one of the more efficient ways to get minifigs, ESPECIALLY ones in uniforms/with weapons/pre-balanced.

but then again, it's medieval. i need spacechess. badly.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. Sheesh it's steep... but there is a lot of really cool stuff with it. However, I wonder if the minifigs come glued together already (like the keychains do). That would suck a bunch.

It looks like they don't sell the regular chess set anymore, just the giant one.
The regular set was about $40. So the price per mini was great. I got one back in January.

They were marked down around then too. I think I got it for about $25 or something. The best thing about the Chess set: BrikWars in a Box. Perfect setup for two people to slug it out on a table top. Very neat.
