Question on Minds

Post by Olothontor » Sat Dec 15, 2007 5:57 pm

How does a Creation having multiple heads affect its mind? Would it cost less, or is this something that calls for on-the-fly rulings?

The reason I ask is I made this 6" monstrosity that has three heads, mostly just because it looks cool and gives the thing a metric butt-ton of close combat damage to use.

More minds gives more close combat damage? How does that work? Only thing I can think of is that you have lots of extra weapons for the extra brains involved, otherwise:
7.4: Taking Action wrote:A multi-brained or superintelligent Creature can even take two or more completely dissimilar Actions in the same turn [. . .]; however, it may not use the same weapon, hand, or equipment item for more than one Action during the turn.
I'd treat each extra head as one helping of Multitasking (plus one of Multidexterity, if the creature has enough arms or weapons to need it). If the head gets chopped off, the creature loses those associated advantages. (Unless it's the last remaining head, in which case it loses the advantage of being alive.)

Well, more heads equals more sharp teeth!

Okay, thank you, I'll calculate that in. This thing's already 258cp... how bad can I possibly make it?

Since when is being alive an advantage?

Unfotunately, I spend my rather small salary on LEGOs, so I don't have a camera to take a picture with...

As for the stats, have fun. Note: A lot of these are multiple. I didn't write down the fact that there are two wings and what-not yet. Also, this is before calculating in Mind and a couple other things. I'm also planning on giving it some SP to spend, just because I need this thing to be almost 500 cp.

I just realised that this should probably be in the "reports from the field" forum... oh well. Mike'll fix it, I think.

You calculated the cost of ground speed wrong:
It should be 4cp (or half of 8") or is the ground movement 12"Otherwise it looks devistating, can't wait for pictures.

Oops, good point. I calculated that wrong. Of course, this as built and processed in one of my 1:00 in the morning creative spurts. You know, the ones that created most of my army.

Alright, pictures are a possibility. Keep in mind; I am not the most LEGO savvy person, so the building techniques I use are not the best looking... really the only thing cool about it are the guns mounted on its back. Just so you all know.

and anti-semitism. keep in mind, walt disney hated the jews. no seriously, he wouldn't let them animate his work.

due to my wanton hate of calculating CP, i usually just throw in negative effects for things like this. what'd be really neat is if you could figure out a way for each separate head to actually not co-operate with the other heads. as in, T-rex wants to go and eat some archers while the shark wants to rip off the turret from a tank and use it as a club. they get in an argument, and become on separate teams, attempting to kill each other and their teammates. THAT would be fun.

pff. calculations. stealth is determined to be that a unit cannot be seen unless it is in (i believe) 1/3 cover, but it may be 2/3. this means, simply, that enemy units without stealth detection (don't worry if you don't know what that means, it just means an object can detect stealth units) cannot target, talk to, look at, fart in the general direction of or even THINK about the unit that is stealthed. that unit can only be seen if a) they come out of hiding b) they attack and get a critical miss or something along those lines or c) something has stealth detection nearby.

now yes, i know you're thinking "dude, the other guy can see my minifig cause it's a freaking plastic person on a table and it's RIGHT THERE". now now child. that's where the power of IMAGINATION comes in!
