Yes actually very much like that. What we're really trying to do is something like that except bigger and more modular and playable. So the current layout plan is...

8' table forest (Fragile, i'd be scared to have a brick war in it..)
8' table village (Durable, we can have parts of battles in!)
6' table castle (Durable)
3' table castle (Fragile-ish still playable)
7' table castle (Durable [actually its my friends he's working on at our house])

So picture those spread out around several rooms of the basement and a massive battle spread out with points of power and NPC places to beat to gain treasure and stuff. we're actually figuring on setting up a match where we're the NPC people and several of you guys battle the world to see who can come out ahead with their best 15-30 guys or something... anyways, we'll keep you informed! :)
