Yep, that's the problem all right. Vista is about as good as having a piece of pig crap stuck in your monitor. Try reverting to XP.
I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

As weird as it is that Dr.x makes sense, I have to agree with them. Vista isn't crap, but if you plan on running virtually any program, it won't work on vista. The one exception I've found besides games designed for vista is Civilization 4. Seriously.

Try installing XP if you have it lying around somewhere, or just make do with actual bricks ;)

You aren't missing out on much.
