Technically speaking, a laser isn't really a projectile. A projectile is matter, i.e. a bullet, missile, dimmy.

Correct, in most cases. A laser would usually be considered an energy weapon.

yes, but the word laser can mean the device that produces those beams, so it can easily be a projectile just like a cannon can easily form a projectile.
Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

Exactly. Its a railgun that flings all the hardware that makes up a laser.
